    Wallabies 2024

Braveheart I think that’s overly simplistic. We have a couple of key positions issues which OS guys could help in. But the fact people are still trotting out Cooper and Foley and ignoring that last time they both played for the Wallabies neither played well (Cooper was injured admittedly)...

    Waratahs 2025

i think the complete opposite. Too often we hear that these guys have gone OS and are suddenly killing it. Then they come back and they aren’t particularly better they left. There are exceptions but there aren’t many.

It’s subjective, right. BPA is coming back. I don’t agree with Latu or Faianga’a. Latu was at the Tahs last year and couldn’t get a start. I’ll give you Skelton, don’t agree on any of the rest. Backrow - McMahon maybe but I’m doubtful (although haven’t seen him play for ages). Swinton...

    Round 14 : Reds v Force 24 May (Suncorp)

Sorry Emu - I’m not with you on this one. It’s a fan forum - we need more passionate fans. If they happen to be obsessive / unhinged rather then passionate is that a bad thing. I actually miss a lot of the more unhinged fans on here. Things were pretty entertaining when two of them got into it.

All our best players? I don’t think that’s true at all.

He’s another good young man from Brothers too. It’s almost like they must have a decent culture over there :)

In addition to the playing roster, can we sign Faessler onto a contract in the marketing department. Surely every other player must be asking Fez to come up with a nickname for them.

    Round 14 : Reds v Force 24 May (Suncorp)

Earlier in the week I queried of Smith’s game would translate well at Test level with my main concern being his physical impact. I thought he was very good in contact last night - regularly seemed to get extra metres post contact.

    Round 14 : Reds v Force 24 May (Suncorp)

Yeah - I remember being surprised by the comment at the time. I don’t think he’s ever going to be a superstar but he does a lot of good things and seems to work in well with Les Kiss’ strategy. I think he’s been good all year.

    Round 14 : Reds v Force 24 May (Suncorp)

I don’t think my comment implies that their performance was more than what it is. We beat the team coming 9th. Of course it means nothing next week, much less the week after. I guess I could try and apply some sort weighting scale - but, honestly, I don’t think that’s necessary to make a...

    Wallabies 2024

I was thinking about this yesterday. I’m okay with Skelton being selected and he was good for us last year. But he’s not a must pick IMO and I’m happy to play devils advocate here. Am I correct France is the only other top tier nation who runs a lock who can’t jump. And they do it by three...

    Round 14 : Reds v Force 24 May (Suncorp)

I’m happy to stand by my assessment. They were everywhere while they were on the field and the Reds put 59 points on, played flat and fast attacking footy, won the kicking game and were better defensively. One of the best performances I’ve seen by an Aussie halves pairing for some time. But...

McDermott & Lynagh have been superb so far behind a good forward platform.

Nonggorr is playing better than Tupou or Ala'alatoa at the moment.

    Queensland Reds 2025

We’re in an interesting position here. Lock was my main point of concern but I’ve been pretty impressed with Daly and Uru has made a real fist of lock. So I’m pretty happy there. We could do with some size in the backline, but I like our centres and I’ve been impressed with both Grealy and Ryan...

With regards to Skelton - where people are saying he is in whenever he is available - what if that is only 50-60% of the time? Team cohesion needs to be factored in somewhere.

    Wallabies 2024

As a general rule I think lock and blind side flanker are probably the two positions where it’s hardest for the average mug punter like me to assess their true value because a lot of their job is the unseen work and also what they add to a scrum. If better judges then me think he’s got what it...

    Wallabies 2024

I’d love to see Smith get a gig Sully and I don’t think anyone has been in better form or more consistent at Super level. My only concern is how his game would translate at test level. Quite possibly he would be excellent but I’m just not sure. I don’t think on this years form any other lock...

But if he’s not available, he’s not available. As far as I understand this has been confirmed.
