I’m just surprised ipso facto provisions don’t stay that transfer.

The licence thing is a bit unusual to me. I know the Rebels state on their website that: "The Melbourne Rebels have entered voluntary administration and have handed their license to Rugby Australia." This is inconsistent with RA statements such as "As a result, RA will now work with the...

The related party loans suggests that the directors have tipped in the best part of $6m to keep the place going “The Chairperson also noted that the directors, and entities/people associated with the directors, have advanced $5.7m to the Company to support the club,”. On the tax front I imagine...

North’s a director facing a big share of a tax debt. He’ll be looking to rope in anyone he can to reduce that exposure and he has the skills to do it. His goal will be at a minimum a cents on the dollar deal via an ATO supported deed of company arrangement at least partially funded by RA.

I’m surprised my wife didn’t stop seeing me early in our relationship after coming to meet me ant the pub after a few Rebels games back in the early days.

Without reading the article due to the strength of the Murdoch paywall, I assume it is about him being a member and regional director of the YPO ( based on the photo I can see in the article), and then goes on to talk about how secretive this group of people who became CEOs or chairs prior to...

I can’t see it either but the journalist, Stephen Drill, is basically a gossip columnist for sports related business in Melbourne. Career highlights include sky after dark punditry and interviewing Jackie Lambie’s meth addict son who she was trying to get into rehab - her son was drug affected...

I’ll still head down for a few beers at my local club - I still love the game. To be honest I also got ahead of myself on the World Cup and think there’ll be some great games to watch there too. But I will struggle to support RA and the wallabies if the Rebels go (it’s not like the wallabies...

The Hawks - I’ll probably just cancel my Stan sports subscription and get some value out of my MCC membership. Went through this in the merger battle with the Hawks and Demons, then the whole super shit show a few years ago. It gets pretty old after a while. The real struggle will be if I...

I believe construction commenced this year. On your other point, if you read what I was responding to it was about vic labour supporting rugby, but you feel free to run down whatever tangent you want to.

I get why they are there and that they have a job to do. Given what happened in the world cup and the whole Eddie mess, they also have a job to do back here. The perception is because our team went home too early that they are sitting there on a junket, and no-one is working on sorting out the...

Sounds like a good way to lose any support in the non NSW/QLD states by creating an unassailable gap in the tiers of pro rugby. Perth before the axing, and Melbourne now are steadily producing wallabies. We didn’t when the pinnacle of our game was ARS or Div 2 schools selection.
