2022 Bledisloe Cup. Wallabies vs All Blacks

Just had a look at the ticket map - they have moved a heap of tickets since they opened up the $50 tickets

Wallabies v Springboks II, Allianz Stadium 7:35pm 03/09/22

You hope lessons have been learnt, but Marvel Stadium was known as "the beach" in its early years and that was only under AFL loading. AAMI Park looked like the carpet was being rolled up under the scrums at one point. Suncorp has also had issues. It can't be easy establishing a surface in...

Wednesday isn't a standard for junior Rugby. Plenty of clubs train Thursday. It is a standard for state school sport though.

They didn't have numbers for firsts and reserves, and with only about 8 returning firsts, the team wanted to play prem reserves. Vicrugby wanted them to play Prems, so the team withdrew. I think there is a group still training down there.

    Ballymore Redevelopment

As a recovering commercial builder I love the last part of that update - straight out of the Buildcorp PM's monthly report. Surprised they didn't make them come up with some 'fun facts' like measure the piling in Suncorp goal posts or the concrete in Taniela Tupous or something similar.

What rugby needs to do to get back to its roots and entertain customers.

So true. With the feed being near enough to direct to the second row the only point of a scrum is a battle for a penalty. The problem is the scrum has stopped being a contest for posession and become a contest for penalties.

Australia v England: Match II @ Suncorp 7.55pm AEST, 09/07

I heard him say "Nela doesn't get pushed through" or words to that effect.

Australia v England: Match II @ Suncorp 7.55pm AEST, 09/07

And there is a big difference in offering that as your defence as opposed to putting that up as evidence against another player. Amusing, but irrelevant for anyone other than the next niggling English lock he comes up against.

    Australia v England Test 1 Sat. July 2 @1955

On Swain, don't do stupid shit and you don't get carded. If the Pom pissed him off enough to go the butt, the Pom beat him. On Leota, if he is off, surely they have to look at the shin to the head before kick off for the second half.

Why not get him to take one up north too. Townsville Gilumandcokes.

The renaming of the "Cook Cup" decision

I'm more aligned with the learn from instead of bury history school of thought, but there is not much history in the name of the Cook Cup. It hasn't been around that much longer than the length of George Smith's pro rugby career. The big sweets jar is just a byproduct of the most important...

Rebels v Tribe 15/05/22 at AAMI

I booed him in front of my small children which is something i hadn't contemplated I would need to hate doing until that moment - try scored right in front of them in their first game for years due to covid, no afternoon games, etc. The prick basically killed Santa.

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

The ability to switch services on and off, and the generally lower overall cost makes it pretty compelling though. I think I used to pay around $100 for HD Foxtel back in the day. We have currently got Stan Sports, Netflix, Disney, Amazon and Foxtel and it comes out to around $100 a month, and I...

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

Theres another $1bn coming down the pipe to them when the Southern Stand gets upgraded at the G. Cricket in Victoria (and SA/WA) are the really big winner - they wouldnt have half the facility upgrades they get without the AFL.

Eltham are down to one senior side this year and have been really struggling with training numbers. They are bringing back a vets team though.

I assume that if Sampson was worth having, the Force would have extended his contract. We haven't had great success recruiting from the west to date. It's time to look more widely and find someone who has the gravitas to re-build the clubs culture and S&C as a minimum. Recruitment may be a two...

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

It could be a cautionary tale for future NRC endeavours with existing clubs. The name was so intrinsically linked to what was a fairly unpopular (and my former) junior rep club (because of its use of its NBL club ties), that it was too on the nose for the rest of Vic basketball to support. It...
