Please, slow to organise a caterpillar box kick. FFS is there any other way to do it ? The whole thing shits me yo tears. Talk about steps before you pas or kick, have a look at steps taken away from the defence before passing to those who then become sitting ducks.

With our injury toll over the past 12 months having a few in front of you shouldn’t worry anyone…..

Just watched the replay ,haven’t read the entire thread, so apologies if I’m rep couple of things stood out. Very poor defensive reads and realignment out wide and some poor communication and folding in close. Who is responsible for defence? Three relatively soft tries from poor alignment/...

Interesting language around Campbell getting "dropped" by Rennie. Would love to know the language to justify Wright and Gordon continual selections, maybe they are not sick and the coaches aren't disappointed by their below average performances due to them regularly being below par?

I think Uelese’s throws were some of the worst I witnessed in QPR this season and that's being compared to amateurs. He wasn’t even the best lineout thrower at Wests, I don’t know how he could be considered a chance of Test selection.

    Qld Premier Rugby 2023

Best run I can see is UQ 1952-1970 with 19 straight GF appearances winning 12. Souths won five in a row from 1991-95. Total wins and runners’ up numbers tell a story, that’s where UQ and Brothers are well out in front …… This table is from Wikipedia, so make of it what you may, the earlier...

Souths had a great run from the late 80’s for about 10 or so years , played in a stack of GF’s and won most.

The scary thing on top of this is the lack of development from the 2020/21/22 while the 6 Nations were still playing Academy games and U20's. We have been standing still/ going backwards compared to the NH when it comes to develpoment at an age group level. When you throw in our Super Rugby...

Players/forwards tend to play channels/zones of the field these days, you don't see your loosies chase the ball from one side of the field to the other, they largely stick to their zones. The bloke who passed you the ball in general play becomes your primary support (execpt for the 9 ) and...

For all the comments about fitness and lack of urgency in alignment both sides of the ball, the thing that gets me most about the way the Wallabies play is lack of bodies in motion. We have one out runners off one pass, no deception feigned, often off slow ball from the breakdown. Look at the...

With regards to GPS, there would be a few of their better performers who wouldn’t be eligible to play for the Reds maybe?

He played #2 in his last year at Terrace in 2017, may have played backrow earlier on. Has always played like an extra backrower , at Terrace he stood at the back of defensive linouts and used his speed to put pressure on the opposing #10, he was quicker than anyone else in the backrow.

Totally agree! We all have ideas about what you want from each position in the forward pack. The reality is you need the players to meld into a functional pack. You can’t have a team of high impact ball runners who have awesome highlight reels , someone needs to win them the ball and defend...

Australia A v Japan XV matches

Can’t comment on Gilmore’s work at the Tahs , but have seen him first hand work with the Reds’ Academy and both Australian U18’s and U20’s. His defensive structures there were all about staying connected and communicating, if the defender inside you pushes out you push , likewise with jamming...

Don’t think anyone could have resisted that opportunity. Smit had his hands up reaching for the ball with his lead leg off the ground , his ribs were exposed. Don’t think he would have been overly impressed by the pass from Pilz. Flook certainly didn’t hesitate and read the play well.

Flook has natural rugby intelligence, always been a footballer first and an athlete second. Runs great lines , often finds himself in the right spot at the right time and makes very good reads defensively. Went from playing Qld Schoolboys’ 2 in his last year of school to captaining the...
