We don’t seem to have options for 13. The best fit for 12/13 is mostly decided by who is playing in other positions. The current crop of players that are capable have come through the pathways as 10/12/15’s. A natural ball runner that accelerates into space and/or looks for an outside shoulder...

Think it’s …… “ opinions are like arseholes, everybody has one. “ Would be pretty boring world we all thought the same.

France had three years in a row of good showings at the U20 RWC, from memory runners up in 2017 and won it in 2018/19. That age bracket is now feeding into their Test squad.

    Reds 2023

Should be a cracking day’s rugby at Sunnybank next Sunday with the Reds U15’s /16’s and 19’s all playing before the main game at 4pm. Looking forward to seeing how the age group games go before cheering on the challengers.

Noted , no more comment on his coaching credentials……

    Reds 2023

Yes I certainly do , haven’t read every post on this thread , but I’m not suggesting he is anointed, but surely deserves his current appointment. To say his QPR record doesn’t quite stack up because he came from a well resourced club is a bit of an insult , particularly when he is at least...

All clubs have the ability to offer something, as you say the scholarships have been around for a long time. Under Heenan the Heavies have made 9 Grand Final appearances in 12 years and won 6 of those. Slim pickings in the half dozen years prior with the same scholarships in place. Heenan has...

Isn’t Thorn the set piece coach ? Or at least with help from Crapper ?

This type of planning / strategic forward thinking has been one of Heenan’s strengths in QPR. He will pick a team to beat the opposition rather than stick with the same team every week. Again though it depends on who is listening as to whether that skill set is utilised with the Reds.

The Reds took on Michael Todd as an assistant coach with a lot less coaching experience than Heenan. Realise this was due to him already being on the payroll in his capacity as an analyst, but he was only coaching Colts 1 at UQ at the time. Mick Heenan has very much a HC mentality, very...

Wilson has great skills, but as mentioned he tends to bring out his inner “Rabbitoh” and invite the collision. Find that strange seeing he was told to work on his footwork pre-collision by Rennie. His hand-eye coordination is crazy, very good cricketer. Not sure if he still holds the record...

The second half from Wests was good, but UQ their own worst enemy. Similar to the Major Semi , they kept gifting Wests with opportunities. The intercept try came from poor passing and timing meaning the defence was up in the line when Jooste threw the long ball. Wests scored straight after...

Any chance of a late ASY (Angus Scott-Young)/Vest inclusion? That would certainly square up the forward packs!

Kalani was a lot better last week, but Tate is another level again on top of that. Much stronger in contact also which might be needed in clearing from set piece if the UQ scrum is struggling. If Tate’s available, you would be mad not to start him.
