    Rugby Scrums

I've seen it in action over the past two seasons and I think it's worked well. Puts emphasis on getting it right as you only have one reset available.

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

Could you imagine? Someone actually looking to build out the damn thing properly.

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

From another article earlier last week you got the feeling that he wants to see SRP (Super Rugby Pacific) become more of a focus in terms of building the competition as more than the current held view of NZRugby (and RA as well) as a extended trial system for the ABs as opposed to a commercial entity. Also talked...

Australia A - Back on the Cards

Confirmation that Aus A will play a three match series against Japan XV (not the Brave Blossoms) in October http://en.rugby-japan.jp/2022/08/19/japan-xv-to-host-australia-a-in-three-match-series/

    Rebels 2023

Six and 6 seems like a good fit. Two pools. Minimum 5 games each.

    Rebels 2023

What would be great regardless of whether we go it alone or stay in SRP (Super Rugby Pacific) (albeit hopefully with a significant change to the status quo) is some kind of formalised competition between our teams and some of the top JL1 clubs. Taking place either after the June/July test window or in the few months...

    Rebels 2023

All but the Brumbies apparently. I know the Tahs have played the NEC Green Rockets in the past on a couple of occasions. And I think Suntory or Panasonic.

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

Well, hopefully that means he's at least open to different models and willing to put pressure on NZRugby to accept change.

    Rugby Scrums

I think they can be an important and spectacular part of the game. If all the gamesmanship BS is taken out of the equation.

Having no NRC is better how?

Not from this NSWelshmen. I've been an avid Shute Shield viewer for a long time but without a huge influx of funds it cannot bridge the gap that the likes of the NPC does between club and professionalism. The NRC did that and frankly should have always been controlled directly by NSW Rugby.

    Death of a Subbies Club

It may require some flexibility on what exactly constitutes a club as well.

    Death of a Subbies Club

Reading through all of these clubs and their apparent struggles for numbers a part of me has to wonder why something likes a 10/12 a side division was never looked at? Seriously. Requires less numbers overall. Could arguably be better suited to a one may be two team clubs. You could modify it a...

    Death of a Subbies Club

Wasn't there once a club called the Macarthur Crusaders? I seem to remember them popping up for a season or two. And Claymore played until they were kicked out following their booting out of the local League comp for violence. Shocking no one who knows anything about that area. But it's kind of...

Having no NRC is better how?

Yeah, watching the NPC and cannot help but long for something that could fill the same purpose as this. Unless we go with some kind of national semi-pro club competition that essentially runs some kind of franchise model allowing for clubs to sign players then we may be waiting for a long time.

    Waratahs 2023

The NRL wanted a shiny new stadium so the tax payer had to foot a $1b to make them happy. Turns out like the spoilt child they are they're not and want more or otherwise they're taking their ball and going to Qld

Sevens 2021/22 (World Series, Oceania, Comm Games & R7WC)

I imagine that once it starts there will be. But at the moment it's just replays.

Sevens 2021/22 (World Series, Oceania, Comm Games & R7WC)

Both but higher quality does make it better in terms of the elite game. My focus on schools is about providing kids with the simpler more open version which is 7s. From there you can gradually implement more structure while keeping the openness with 10s and then 12 a side before running with...

Sevens 2021/22 (World Series, Oceania, Comm Games & R7WC)

I'm also not a huge fan of the 15 minute quarters. There was a proof of concept event in the US for the Super 7s Rugby League several years back using 12 minute quarter. It held up until the 3rd quarter when fatigue really kicked in and the score ran up. I think you could probably go with 15...

Sevens 2021/22 (World Series, Oceania, Comm Games & R7WC)

That could work as well. There's no reason if enough schools were involved that you could run them as mini gala days. Point is, it's a very good introduction to the basic mechanics of the game. Involves lots of running and ball handling/movement and is fun to play. I know RA has made noise about...
