    Wallabies 2023

I know Will Harrison hasn't played for two years (and still isn't back) and before everyone piles into me, yes I know some people never return to their pre-injury form and we will just have to see what he can bring. But when they were all 20, he was clearly ahead of Donaldson and Edmed, and...

Brumbies v Waratahs, Sat 1st April, GIO

The way it looked to me was HJH (Harry Johnson-Holmes) collared the ball carrier, then as the maul moved forward both went down, as the force of the 16 bodies moving forward made it impossible for either man to hold his feet. Is that a penalty? I have to say I honestly don't know. As to the repeated scrum...

Round Five: Waratahs vs Chiefs Friday 7:30 pm

Imo, a much improved performance from the Tahs, but they are never going to win a Super rugby game against the undefeated leaders with 30% possession. Despite what was really an outstanding defensive effort and dominating the set piece this team will remain also-rans unless they an cut down the...

Thought they might have put Bowen on the bench

    Waratahs 2023

Watching so far this season we have three main issues The first is, as everyone here has identified, is the inability of the halves to control the game and make use of the talent outside them. I think Gordon has looked decidedly ordinary this season compared to last, and neither Edmed nor...

Round 4: Hurricanes v Waratahs, Friday 17th March

Bad passes, poor lineout throws, if we can't hold the football we can't possibly win games

Round 4: Hurricanes v Waratahs, Friday 17th March

I think that's probably the best side we can put together for this one. As has been said, Nadolo starting really worries me, would probably have preferred to see Wilson or Tuipulotu in his place (perhaps at 13 with Perese to the wing until he regains some form). One from three, and missing Bell...

    Wallabies 2023

According to Wikepedia, Muirhead is 6 foot and 84kg, Kellaway is 6 Foot 1 and 106kg. Even if those figures are wrong, I think you'll find there's a lot more of Kellaway than there is of Muirhead. That's not knocking Muirhead, i think he is a consistently good footballer, but he's not very big.

    SR2023 R3 - Rebels vs Waratahs Friday 10 March @ 7.35pm

Rebels were pretty good, probably unlucky not to win by more. As a Tahs supporter, a pretty disappointing game. They continue to give away more penalties than just about any other side, I don't see why they can't fix that, are they just stupid or what? That should be one of the first things DC...

    Waratahs 2023

How good has Tom Lambert been. The guy would have been looking at a year coming off the bench at best, possibly not even that with everyone fit. Bell gets injured, he's thrown in the deep end for his first Super Rugby start, and has been in the GAGR team of the week for the first two weeks!

    Waratahs 2023

It will be really interesting to see how Harrison goes when he gets back. I thought he was clearly our best 10 before injury, and improving all the time. He's a better attacking threat, stronger defender and better goal kicker than either of the other two.

    SR2023 R2 - Waratahs vs Drua - Saturday 4 March @ 7.35pm

Well, the big take-away for me there was that the Tahs are going to have to fix their discipline if they want to challenge the top sides, the penalties they gave away in the first half would have seen a top side too far ahead to catch. Apart from that and a bit of sloppy work at the breakdown...

    Waratahs 2023

I think Faulkner needs to start at THP, I think Holtz is a great prospect, but scrummaging needs to improve before he's a starter. I would be very inclined to start a front row of Lambert, Porecki and Faulkner, with Latu, Latu and Holtz on the bench. I would also start Gleeson at 8, Gamble on...

Super Rugby Rd 1: Waratahs vs Brumbies Friday, 24th February

I know it's been commented on, but I will say I thought Schoup, who had a great debut, did carry on like a knob. Will be interested to see if he's as big a hero against a 30 year old prop with 50 test under is belt, rather than a 22 year old kid still carrying babyfat with half a Super rugby...

    Waratahs 2023

While Jorgensen tackles well, he made a couple of poor decisions in defence, which will ne doubt be rectified by a bit more time and experience. I think he's a really great prospect and should get plenty of game time, at this point I would still have Peitsch and Marky Mark (Nawaqanitawase) as run-on wings with...

    Waratahs 2023

BR, with no Bell or HJH (Harry Johnson-Holmes), that's what it must be. I actualy thought Lambert acquitted himself pretty well, but Holtz got a bit of a touch-up

Super Rugby Rd 1: Waratahs vs Brumbies Friday, 24th February

Tahs will really miss Bell, was the best player on the park until he went off. Thought Lambert went pretty well though. Brumbies just to accurate for the Tahs, most of the Tahs individually were okay, but passes, defensive positioning, breakdown work all letting them down. This has been a Tahs...

    Wallabies 2023

While that old style of accountability is certainly no longer acceptable, in my experience the really high achievers, be it in sport, business or elsewhere, tend to place a very high level of accountability on themselves. Interestingly, my first boss in my career (we're talking 1970's) was one...
