From what I can understand most of the Griffith Blacks Womens team didn't nominate to be part of the Representative program. I apologise for insinuations implied in previous comments.

Reasoning, regarding mens side of Blacks club. There is no great problem. The situation is just a consequence of living in a community which is based on work which can be temporary. A lot of our players work in the wineries, in poultry production with Steggles, seasonal farm work etc. Culture at...

Just saw the SIRU rep teams. Griffith Blacks women’s team dominating the competition. Waratahs 11 players. Griffith 3.

Given a NRL player is moving to ARU on 1.6m per year it’s a bit hypocritical to continue our amateur status in rural areas. Lets just go professional. Same with match officials.

Until Reasoning provided the guidelines I was unaware what they were. I’m also unaware what anachronistic means. Regardless of the sympathetic views Namtrak may have on the subject, if parameters exist each club must operate within them. If one club is providing financial assistance in SIRU...

That is interesting Reasoning. Obviously there are people who believe some clubs in this zone are providing financial assistance to certain players outside the mostly amateur guidelines you have set out above. If true the clubs involved should lose their points.

Interesting topic. I just assumed financial assistance for players in SIRU was legal. Whether it be direct payment or something backhand like paying someone’s rent. From what Reasoning is implying it is not supposed to be happening. Could someone clarify the situation.

Can you expand on that Bubba. What do you do for your players that every other club does that would be hypocritical to mention. I don’t think it’s illegal to pay players in SIRU anyway.

That’s interesting. I know Griffith didn’t pay players. Bubba are players paid to play for your club?

Re Griffith biting the dust Reasoning, we do play Deni, Tumut and Albury at home next round. If Griffith beat Reddies this round and next round + win against Deni, Tumut and Albury we end up with 6 wins. Is that enough to end up in 4th place. Besides playing each other Aggies, Tahs and City will...

Think Griffith are a real chance at Deni. Young team getting better. If they do win Blacks will firm as contenders for that 4th place. Tumut and City will win. Tahs/Aggies ? Flip of the coin.

City, Waratahs, Aggies…………….Reddies. Which team fills in 4th place. Looks like Tumut have fallen off a cliff after their big defeat of Griffith. Albury have been beaten at home by Griffith. If Deni become a team that improves a bit they could be that 4th placed team.

I think the Tahs Bubba & Mauler. They are a very good team. They remind you of a private school team of adults. Positional play outstanding. City has more speed. Will be a good game.

I think there was doubling up last Saturday at Tumut Reasoning but not enough to explain the score blowout. I mean if the quality of players were there the quantity was enough to win games. The problem is the age of the players. Something like 10 of the 15 1sts were under 20. They’re alright...

Which clubs have a 3rd grade. I thought Waratahs did. Obviously they don’t.

I think girls teams will want to organise scratch matches when opportunities arise to keep their comp flowing. Unfortunately Ag girls are on holidays as Mauler said. Griffith are down on troops for the trip to Tumut so look like being 0 from 2 after this weekend. Doesn’t get any easier as we...

There it is again. WAC and Waratahs girls bye. Reddies play City. Surely a game can be organised to fit on that program somewhere so that these 2 teams don’t sit out the weekend.

    Southern Inland Rugby 2023

I think City beats Griffith on the weekend. Griffith have quite a few young players coming through. This is exciting for the club but it might take a while for the team to get used to each other. Anyone know if Reddies and Waratahs girls are going to play a match against each other. Seems a bit...

Is SIRU streaming a match this weekend? If so does anyone know which game?

Given that Albury have almost always struggled to consistently field a reserve grade in the past, player numbers must have really improved a lot to be pushing ahead with 3rds. Surprising a uni team like Reddies might not be able to provide 2nds. Are Leeton’s numbers really OK?
