Wallaby 31 players for 2015 RWC

Higgers has demonstrated that he's a useless bench option in years past. My memory of him is that he generally makes some line breaks if he's injected late in the game. I'd prefer to concentrate on winning the breakdown.

Wallaby 31 players for 2015 RWC

I think if you take McCalman and Higgers you cover your bases pretty well. Both can cover 6 and 8, but are polar opposites. McCalman - impressive workrate and plays very tight. Higgers, questionable workrate, but quite effective playing wide. But so Long as Hooper is in the 23, it's hard to...

Our players will be busy playing in the world cup final on 31 October 2015. :D

Do you really think any player that goes to the world cup will be willing and able to back up for the sevens in November? I find that highly unlikely

Super Rugby 2015, the run home

Who know with the Tahs. honestly they've just been too inconsistent this season. I lost a whole lot of money on them on the weekend and I'm pissed at myself because I should have seen it coming. That was a game they should have won. Poor execution and a failure to adapt. They knew the approach...

Agree that Foley, Phipps, JOC (James O'Connor), Speight would also be great inclusions but none are likely to be available later this year.

I certainly think we should be looking to include Liam Gill and Sean McMahon in the squad in November (if they don't play the world cup) given that they have a good background in 7s. perhaps one or two others. Morahan has a good sevens background. Joe Tomane would be worth a look.

Cooper's in game kicking is pretty good. The Reds have played a lot of territory in recent years.

Wallaby 31 players for 2015 RWC

At the world cup we want a genuine 10 with test experience at 10. Beale has test experience, but isn't a genuine 10. Lilo is arguably a genuine 10 but has no test experience at 10. I'd rule those two out completely. Which ever team wins the world cup will have a very composed no.10...

I think Cheika would have to be mad to leave JOC (James O'Connor) out of the squad, provided he's healthy.

Wallaby 31 players for 2015 RWC

Agree with your assessment. expect, I'd argue that Horne and JOC (James O'Connor) both have more utility value than Lilo and Beale, looking at the positions we need to cover. The fact that Beale and Lilo can play 10 is irrelevant in my view. If Foley and Cooper both go down I believe Larkham will prefer To'omua...

Wallaby 31 players for 2015 RWC

I'd rate our 12s like this:- 1. To'omua 2. Lilo 3. Giteau 4. Beale 5. Horne I hate to be that guy always hating on Beale, but I just don't rate him as a test player at 12. Actually correct me if I'm wrong but I believe that out of the abovenamed players he's got the least amount of experience...

Wallaby 31 players for 2015 RWC

Nice to see Cooper will be back ahead of schedule. Looks like he'll be fit for 3, possibly 4 games before the season ends. Might not sound like a big difference but two games was very touch and go, especially considering that the last two games are against particularly tough opposition. An...

definitely. If they aren't in the RC, surely they cant be in the world cup squad. Will Cheika name them in the RC extended squad?

The impending Hooper vs Pocock Dilemma

I watched Higgers closely on the weekend. It's no wonder he doesn't get through as much work as other no.6s. He plays so wide of the ruck. Presumably that's by design as it is with Hooper for the tahs. you probably could afford to play him if Pocock was on the field but I don't like the idea...

    Big change to eligibility rules

I doubt you'll see to many players being brought back for the june tests or the RC after the world cup given that the years after the cup are suppose to be about blooding the next generation. You'd like to think a guy like Kepu would still be happy to play for Oz on the EOYT given that he won't...

Wallaby 31 players for 2015 RWC

I remember thinking it was a low decision at the time, given that Brumbies had already won the game and didn't stand to gain anything from the taking a bonus point from the Reds. It was Schadenfreude from my point of view. But i concede i might be in the minority. I agree it was certainly not...

    Worst Commentator Pole Action

I don't mind the Kiwi commentators actually. Marto is the undisputed king of shit commentary. The only guy that comes close has to be that Welsh bloke...I wana say Jonathan Davis? Am i thinking of the right guy? I'd love to see more commentary from Shaun Maloney. He's much more enjoyable...

I've noticed in the NRL they are very strict on players that arent the captain talking to the refs. Does the fact that Pocock is VC give him some leeway to chat to the ref?
