Wallaby 31 players for 2015 RWC

I don't think we need McMahon in the squad. Great Player, but he's very similar to Hooper. If Hooper's unavailable I think he'd be the perfect guy to fill his spot, because he can play that same explosive no.7 role. But I just don't see him playing 1 minute of rugby if we have both Hooper and...

Wallabies v. Springboks, 18th July 2015, Suncorp, Brisbane

Looks like McCalman's out of this one.

Wallaby 31 players for 2015 RWC

i actually thought Beale had one of his better games last night. Last night's game was quite open and unstructured at times and that seems to suit beale. He's handy when he has time and space to counter. These are reasons he's more of a 15 than a 12 for the wallabies. Unfortunately his weakest...

Wallaby 31 players for 2015 RWC

Is it too early to say that Higgers looks like he's finally back to that form he had in 2013 before his injury. It's taken him 2 years but he's timing his run perfectly. Looking like a match winner atm

Wallaby 31 players for 2015 RWC

I think Jones has been a bit better than Timani this year, and is a bit more well rounded. However I'm still cautious about whether he's a genuine option to act as a reserve lock against the likes of England. Timani might be a better replacement off the bench for Skelton because he has an extra...

Wallaby 31 players for 2015 RWC

good point. Timani hasn't hit his peak yet, but i do see a lot of value in what he offers. He appears to be a decent scrummaging lock, he's a good ball running option and most importantly he moves bodies. I can see some real benefit in having him in the squad. We need a few forwards that are...

Wallaby 31 players for 2015 RWC

I think it depends whether you start Hooper or Pocock. The fact that Pocock is now available means that there is less need for Fardy's skill set. Although he's definitely still the obvious choice for the selectors.

Cant tell if you're trolling or just worried about the tahs missing the finals...a bit of both?

nah. queenslanders are rarely worried when their team's playing at suncorp

Reds V Chiefs Round 17 Sat 6th June

So there's been a fair bit of negativity for Genia and Horwill over the last few seasons, what with the teams poor performance and their indifferent form. But I'd like to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to both players for everything they've done for our team. Seeing them take us...

Wallabies v. Springboks, 18th July 2015, Suncorp, Brisbane

fyi I see fardy as our best 6. But with limited time before the world cup and almost no throw away games there needs to be some rotation (however difficult). In my experience the Boks is a good opportunity to play a guy like higgers before the wc. I still believe the brumbies will come good in...

Wallaby 31 players for 2015 RWC

I've actually written an article on this issue that I'm hoping to post on the site in the coming weeks/months. I'm looking at each of the sanzar teams. Qwerty your response is pretty close to mine

Wallaby 31 players for 2015 RWC

Yeh I think that's right. I'd say our scrum is marginally weaker than NZ and SA when we play anything other than our best players, but that's enough of a difference to usually see us get toweled up

Wallaby 31 players for 2015 RWC

I might add that I really hope there wasn't a directive to the RWC referees that the ball can stay in the scrum for an eternity. Or the maul for that matter. Unfortunately I'm guessing it will be encouraged given that England will rely so heavily on that tactic. I'm all for a good scrum...

Wallaby 31 players for 2015 RWC

You're correct regarding the low amount of tries. Althugh my memory of those two games (v SA and France) is that the wallabies were very good with ball in hand.

Wallaby 31 players for 2015 RWC

Re scrummaging, it's important to remember that the Wallabies scrum on its own feed has been quite good for the last couple of years. It's really on opposition feeds that we are struggling. As mentioned earlier, last year we really struggled to adapt to the northern hemisphere style of...

If you could change the laws of rugby, what would you change?

But then how does the ball come out of the maul?

Wallaby 31 players for 2015 RWC

Both very good 10s, but the two guys you have named have been the Wallabies' go to 12s over the last 2 years. Both are relatively green at 10 at test levels (lilo hasn't played there at all). I'd prefer for them to stay at 12 and rely on an experienced 10.
