    Where to for Super Rugby?

You may not like Poidevin and Papworth and you may disagree with everything they say and you may be right that they don't want any change that betters Australian rugby. However, that's not a closed shop mentality. Closed shop mentality; any business that only hires the same types of people...

They all start with community based nominations. If you think somebody deserves recognition then anyone can start the process off.

    A. Jones is not a committee type of person. I doubt he'd accept even if nominated. I'm sure he would be able to nominate someone though. But the larger point is that it's actually quite productive to have people who disagree with the mainstream or have different views in any planning process...

Why the hatred towards rugby league

One of the many wonderful things about growing up on the northern beaches is that both codes were/are quite strong and most kids played both, at least in the younger years. This means there isn't the great hatred here that seems to exist elsewhere. Many Manly or Warringah rugby supporters also...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

^^^Sadly dru, I think everything that you had said here is correct. I think we have to strap in for the 10 year train wreck scenario, such a missed opportunity. I would also offer the view that the fact that we have NZ coaches and administrators involved in Aus rugby, the subservience to...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

100% correct Froggy. I'd just note again at this point that getting people to invest in their teams includes how the teams are named and what and where they represent. State based identification of teams isn't what works in Australia and should be avoided. I again note that the team you...

Absolutely there's now a safety factor as the scrums are more structured and thus more power goes through the front rows. But there's no need for them to take as long as they now do. I think KOBs suggestion about a 60 second limit provides enough time for a safe scrum. FK against the team...

Including people and bringing them inside the tent also puts an obligation on them to come up with solutions instead of just airing their grievances.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

A meaningful panel discussion requires a range of views regarding problems and be able to present a range of different ideas as to solutions. One of the reasons that RA is in so much trouble is the closed shop mentality which produces an organisational group think where people either can't or...

    Australian Rugby / RA

The problem with scrums is that referees and administrators have allowed them to be transformed from a method of restarting play and deciding possession after a minor infringement to a device for obtaining penalties to kick for goal or territory. The purpose of a scrum is to restart play with...

You've identified one of the main issues at play. None of the senior echelon of administrators want to change the fundamentals; they want Super Rugby in some form, they want NSWRU, QRU, ACTRU et al continuing their activities, they want SANZAAR/SANZAR, they want the NRC, they scoff and look down their...

According to the stadium website it has a capacity of 30,000. Let's say for argument that you sell 25% of seats that's about 7,500 punters. The corporates would be in separate rooms so they wouldn't come into it. That's pretty much a capacity Waratah crowd these days anyway.;)

    Where to for Super Rugby?

I'm willing to bet that every SRA game will be televised. In fact I couldn't think of a safer bet than betting that rugby will get on TV in Aotearoa. Even if that requires Jacinda Ardern taking her phone to the games and streaming them it will happen. Trust me on that. :)

    I think that's where we're going to end up. It's just a question of whether it's 2021 or 2031.
