    Wallaby Watch 2014

Back 5 of: Carter Jones Fardy Hooper McCalman Imagine the work they would get through. Throw in Skelton and Palu for some impact, and it is an exciting back 5. Bit going to happen, but it would have a chance of working.

Really? In my mind only Slipper is deserving of a spot at this stage, with 4 others a 50-50 choice. From memory the team you are talking about had 8 Tahs in the starting lineup with a few more on the bench. Not exactly comparable situations at all.

This is essentially the same as redistributing the wealth. The excess good Qld players are likely to go west or south and then make it easier for the rebs or force to sign them. Good for Aus rugby buy likely detrimental to Qld rugby. Same will happen in NSW, but to a slightly lesser extent.

Rebels vs Force, Round 10, 2014

Overall I think that was the best refing performance I have seen this year. Great job in letting the game flow and only picking up critical indiscretions.

    Reds vs Brumbies - Rd9 2014

You guys have lost your marbles. Rucking isn't legal but neither is punching. The first indiscretion in that ruck was Tomane killing the fast ball by lying all over it. Had the first Red support player come in and rucked the crap out of him then he (by the laws of the game) likely received a...

Fuck that is a lot of depreciation. Probably a good thing anyway. More depreciation = less tax = more cash flow. As long as they don't have to borrow against their assets.

    Reds vs Brumbies - Rd9 2014

By the way I sit in the corner where fox do their interview. Moore came over to do one but the crowd kept giving it too him so much that after waiting for around 5 minutes they told him not to bother and he just walked away (to the crowd yelling 'off off off').

    Reds vs Brumbies - Rd9 2014

I agree he didn't lose us the game, but he should have done his job and sent the traitor off.

    Reds vs Brumbies - Rd9 2014

Why? Big difference between foul play and cynical play. The cynical stuff happens at every ruck but we are meant to turn a blind eye to punching.

    Reds vs Brumbies - Rd9 2014

Yes, just pointing out an infraction that preceded Quirks and was pretty cynical. So I wonder - if one of the reds had punched Tomane because he was killing the ball - would they have have received a yellow card or would it have been ok because of what Tomane was doing?

    Reds vs Brumbies - Rd9 2014

Oh and the other thing we are ignoring in this discussion of 'that' ruck is that there was a clear penalty offense prior to Quirk holding Moore and that was Tomane the tackler killing the fast ball for the Reds by not rolling away.

    Reds vs Brumbies - Rd9 2014

You must be joking. If you are going to send Quirk off for that and consistently rule that way for ruck infringements that try to get one team the upper hand we will be watching 3 vs 3 by the end of the game. By contrast it is very very rare that an obvious punch like Moore's goes unpunished...

Rubbish defense against the Force Rubbish refereeing vs the Lions A schedule that include 4 away games in the first 5 include the SA trip Oh and a very average breakdown performance in most matches.

    Reds vs Brumbies - Rd9 2014

In attack I think the Taps at 13 lineup is better. In defense I would have Ant at 13.

    Reds v Force Rd 8 2014

Doesn't really matter who the backs are until we can get more impact from the forwards. PS I believe the reds did approach Cummins a few years ago.

    Reds v Stormers Rd 7 2014

I am glad someone else shares my views on the apparently untouchable Dwyer. Not only is he stuck in a 20 year old rut, even that history (95) doesn't look great!

    Reds 2014

In general I agree but you can't make excuses for him just because he is defending at 13. Fact is quick enough off the mark to defend in that spot but tends to plant his feet and miss his timing. If Ant can defend in that channel effectively so can Taps.

    Reds 2014

The big issue with Taps isn't his attack, it is his lead feet in defense. How he can be such a twinkle toes in attack but get beaten so easily in defense escapes me. He must improve this part of his game if he wants to be a regular s15 starter let alone a test player again.

    Reds 2014

Forget the backs for a bit - need to be going forward first. Not enough blokes getting over the advantage line. Not quick enough recycle. Not enough offloads and short passes before contact. The last of these points is something they could work on to help the other two. The forwards attack is...
