I believe you are right. Wicks may get a bit more at 6 from Munro who was given the last twenty in seconds which he managed to shorten to 10 almost immediately. The young wicks second rower had a valiant debut but is a year or so away from being a 'presence'. Not his type of day. Jesse Harris ...

    Galloping Greens

A miserable day where even the gulls had taken shelter and the ball was more slippery than a member of parliament. If you get to the ground early enough, you will see the how the 3 o clock game is going to be played. Throughout the morning and afternoon the understudies play in the same style...

They should keep each other very sharp. TC on the ball harder than Baldwin but Baldwin harder to get past than TC Two slightly different styles i think. Where will Munro go when he returns. Prefer to see him as a flanker 6 than anything else. 8, though he did some good pilfers last week, needs...

NSW Country - - - NRC Official Team Thread

There will be very few, if any Subies/Country players with the fitness levels of first grade shute players let alone NRC and Super.

Another magic day at coogee with the ground looking stunning. Lower grades all won by wicks but compliments to Norths defence . They came up hard all afternoon but were just short on puff in the final minutes in each grade. First grade no different. Norths got the better of the breakdown for...

That applies to a lot of people playing first grade , yet they are there. Mackay has bulked up a bit and is still very quick ,but needs a good coach to change some of his playing style. He could be a very good first grade player. How would you rate the back three on the scrum for Wicks on...

    Galloping Greens

The threes and fours had poor days with the ball in hand. Once they have this fixed they should both go on to have fine seasons. Half of thirds appeared in twos and under the circumstances twos did well to hang on for a win, helped by most unfortunate kicking from easts. In all three games it...

    Shute Shield 2014

You missed the last try to Ford after a breakout on full time. Wicks 33 - Easts 10 Easts had the better of the big hits but when wicks got over that hurdle they went about their work well. Wicks scrum had the upper hand and were unlucky not to be given a penalty try. They did score from the...

did not see all of it but wicks playing much better than previous week. Eastwood dropping a lot of ball (due greasy conditions ) but looked organised and managed to get quite a few overlaps ( through all grades) Wicks 'up and out' defence was a little slow on the up and woods were good on the...

The Awful Truth About The ARU's Financial Position

I thought every shute sheild game was videoed. What happens to those videos. Could they be uploaded somewhere for anyone to watch? That would be a start. Then if the videos became popular you woould be able to sell them each week. Better than $200 pr club I think

Quite correct We would hope that as many club players as possible will get a run in the nrc. The Wuniwicks might be looking for a particular player ( say for example a fullback) and an eastwood player fits the bill and has no contract elsewhere- a good coach will call him up, i think.

Agree the Trials on saturday were ordinary. Good Option taking was in sad supply. As for the NRC - Different ball game , i think. Take five from 1sts and balance from s15, gen blu, plus why not other clubs in the shute as their seasons are over??

    Sydney Subbies 2014

Actually Randwick thirds, although 8 of the players had higher level experience. The wicks first and second squad were all away at Goulburn in camp. Irish seconds were very good and organised but did not have the fitness level of Wicks.

    Sydney Colts - 2014

One would have thought that the points system was known by those to whom it matters. The games are about to begin and it seems that there is still confusion. Who gives out the info?

3rd tier is back in 2014 [Discontinued]

Heard that Easts and Southern pulled out of JVs with wicks Not sure of any reason, that's for themselves. Heard that coaches would be allocated from tahs or ARU If true , that would possibly mean that players would be chosen from other than just the JVs club. This would broaden the horizon for...

3rd tier is back in 2014 [Discontinued]

As I hear it there are no stand alone clubs only JVs . The ARU will decide who puts up the best package (or who has the best spin) Some aspirants may believe their advertising but hopefully the ARU will see through it all. Yup pigs do fly
