    Australian Rugby / RA

I can completely believe this happened, especially considering Buildcorp's sponsorship of the national womens' team is quite recent. If I were to sceptically piece together a timeline, I'd say it was brought up at the start of the NRC as a long term goal then Pulver doubled down in return for...

    Australian Rugby / RA

Basically they've pulled the sponsorship as the ARU reneged on creating a womens domestic competition. Buildcorp are also the sponsor of the womens XV.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Research generally tells you what you want to hear though. That's how we got into our own balls up. Pro12 could do South Africa but it'd surely be at the expense of USA.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

I still don't know how this won't turn Pro12 into a bigger balls up than just having them in Super Rugby. I mean, they want to expand to Houston.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

I haven't seen one article or comment to this effect that wasn't from a Force fan. I assumed it is a wider result of financial ineptitude on the part of the ARU.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

This is an incredibly good point that few have raised. If you're out by $7m in one year, surely you have a look at your balance sheet and check your assumptions on revenue and costs. You'd surely do a bit of analysis as to whether the extra cost was capital expenditure that won't repeat, or...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

I don't think willingness to come out and spout nonsense is a positive in his CV. Every public statement he's made has further exposed himself and the board as incompetent, and the fallacy of this entire exercise. He's handled this as well as an Australian scrumhalf. Pulver at least has the...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

He let it stand out there for a good month.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

This goes further than a NSW bias. This is Clyne literally thinking 'nah my opinion on the competition's sustainability is so right that it dissolves contracts'. What a spud.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

In today's edition of 'Jesus tap-dancing Christ are you serious', Clyne didn't anticipate teams would take legal action. http://www.rugby.com.au/news/2017/05/29/06/29/clyne-sanzaar-update

    Where to for Super Rugby?

I didn't think the ARU could put their finances at any more risk with all this nonsense, but there you go.

    Unpopular opinion thread

He had done his job as a CEO. I don't think it was necessarily good for the game but he did what his board asked effectively - growing 7s and pumping up participation (no matter how artificial the numbers). Regardless, he and the board have been found out.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

It is, but the ARU activated all options upon signing of the deal.

    Rebels 2018

I like that this thread exists but I'm going to protect myself for the time being.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

My bet would be he'd look to get rid of all caps and player restrictions.

    So...what we have now?

    Rebels 2017

Aww that'd be nice. They'd be a cute couple.

Waratahs v Rebels - Sunday 21 May - Allianz Stadium

Save your money. I'm out of energy this year as a fan. Can't imagine what the players are feeling.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Clyne's offer of a vague update to avoid an EGM has been rejected.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

He has approached the Victorian Government, they met last week. The Sports Minister has given tepid approval to assistance in return for a public show of support.
