    Where to for Super Rugby?

Nobody wins if the Force lose.

It's been an honour spending these 48-72 hours with you, ladies and gentlemen.

    Force 2018

Panda says 4pm. Good luck guys, I'm hoping for a win.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

I love the Moondogs but having a SANZAAR tournament made up of the SANZAAR nations makes sense. Will make the Hagyouwahrehs' task a bit harder relative to the rest of the comp but overall a lot better.

    Force 2018

I wouldn't read too much into it mate, we were desperate for a prop especially after Toby Smith left.

    Force 2018

Imagine that party in 2007, at the height of the mining boom and when all the Eagles were on the gear. Would have been raining cash. I say this as an Eagles fan - laughing about it helps keep the tears away. We should have been a dynasty...

    Force 2018

Of course it's not - in fact, you'll notice that was the only part of that blog post I made no comment on. The financial mismanagement of the ARU and all of the franchises is something that will need to be worked out as a priority, especially if we are to remain as a quintet next year...

    Force 2018

Not being defensive, this is some guy's blog, not the Guardian. He/she can think what they like how they like. Probably a good thing as descriptors of the Rebels like 'muddy the waters', 'clandestine', 'smoke-and-mirrors', and 'propaganda', all in the one paragraph, don't leave a lot of room...

    Force 2018

I get the feeling this guy doesn't like us very much. For reference, we only missed the front of jersey sponsorship last year.

Think of it this way - you absolutely have the right to appeal to any and every court you want. You can launch action tomorrow if you want. However, you don't necessarily have the right to have that appeal heard, that depends on what the agreement before arbitration was. For instance, if...

You've got us to enjoy for a few more years too :)

    Rebels 2018

This was the same path the Rebels were going to go down - On Kick and Chase after the announcement, Clyne said they knew five teams were unsustainable as soon as the Rebels entered. That would mean both the Rebels' sale and the Force's acquisition were arguably done under false pretenses. As...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

They would have to be complete and utter morons not to have a plan B in case of hahaha nah I can't finish that sentence

    Force 2018

When the two teams they want to get rid of have the two most legally concrete claims to spots? ARU go cap in hand to SANZAAR and say 'we stuffed up'.

    Force 2018

They won't try to axe us, they don't have the money for the legal fight. If you are successful, unless they're absolutely certain they'd win, they won't appeal for the same reason. They clearly have no legal recourse either way. If they did, one of us would have been gone in 48-72 hours.

    Force 2018

The VRU and the ARU are legally separate entities, like all state unions are. The Rebels are in the same legal position we were last week, but now bolstered by an owner who won't sell us for any price. If the ARU try to axe the Rebels it'll go to court, and given there's like 2 or 3 QCs on our...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Yep - also educative as to how the ownership status does protect Melbourne, like the alliance agreement hopefully does the Force, despite Clyne's assurances neither mattered. If that were true, why are we still here?

Welcome to Team Burn It All Down, we're glad to have you.

    Rebels 2017

Yes - Melbourne Rebels RU is now 100% privately owned by the VRU. Not in itself, but may be a part of the deal. Exactly, and it still is. The Rebels have the same protections their private ownership afforded yesterday. Just that their beneficial owner has changed to one who has an...

    Rebels 2017

The Brumbies' safety also came from their ownership structure. Any change to their licence require the approval of their member unions, which made both a cut and a merger unlikely. This does make the Rebels safer compared to under Cox, if only because the VRU selling the licence to the ARU...
