Wallabies v All Blacks Saturday 26th August at Forsyth Barr Stadium, Dunedin

I have to agree, No4918, however, what soured it for me was the obvious forward-pass leading to the last All Black's try. From memory, it was a pass from #8 to #21. Sideline official may have been looking elsewhere, or just trying to keep up with the play! Interesting that when that try was...

Wallabies v All Blacks Saturday 26th August at Forsyth Barr Stadium, Dunedin

Without going back very far, pfitzy, you may remember these test players: Joe Roff (20 conv; 18 penalties); Matt Burke (104, 174), Matt Rogers (27, 13); James O'connor [Yes he played at # 15], (39, 25); Julian Huxley (3, 2); Cameron Shepherd (2, 0); Stirling Mortlock (61, 74). Do you wish me to...

He sends a lot of messages to his maker during a game, is that a compliment? My advice to Folau would be "more playing, less praying".

Wallabies v All Blacks Saturday 26th August at Forsyth Barr Stadium, Dunedin

Folau had at least two turnovers, and he's so soft when running the ball and makes contact with the opposition (just goes to ground with no resistance). I also long for the days when Wallaby fullbacks could kick goals. There's no way he is the best #15 in Australia.

Crikey, I'm just one bloke with an 'opinion', but Folau obviously read my G&GR post about him before he ran on tonight!!

Including two of my relations, (Sam Carter's parents)!! I really hope Izak Rodda has a great debut!

Geeze that clip of last week's "lowlights" was hard to watch. Anyway, we've got a lot to be positive about, because Captain Hooper said on radio this morning "we can beat the All Blacks", and wamberal is extremely confident re Folau's ability! Personally, like so many others here, I would have...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

A suggestion on Wednesday by a couple of Rugby League commentators on a radio network based in Sydney, was that the NRL could relocate the Gold Coast Titans (lock, stock, and barrel), to Perth! However, in The Australian today, was the report that when the NRL seeks expressions of interest in...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Rugbynutter, I can't argue with your marketing logic, however, it's interesting that none of these three "marque players" are captain or vice-captain of their respective teams, teams that are under-performing, and teams which appear to have "team-culture" (player-coach) problems. Finally, there...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

When do you stop prioritizing 'marketing', and start valuing 'performance'? Three names: the Wallabies' Israel Folau; The Gold Coast Suns' Gary Ablett; The Gold Coast Titans' Jaryrrd Hayne. IMO, all three are over-paid, under-performing so-called "stars", who are well past their best when it...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Killer, perhaps it's time to resurrect the motto printed on the back of my 2005 Western Force T shirt?: "GET ON BOARD OR GET OUT OF THE WAY".

Wallabies v All Blacks, Saturday 19th August, ANZ Stadium Sydney

I really don't want to hear about the sex-life of any All Blacks players. I just want our guys to belt the shit out of them and send them home to endure the crappy weather that's down there at the moment! Wallabies by one converted try and two penalties!!

Wallabies v All Blacks, Saturday 19th August, ANZ Stadium Sydney

If there are any Western Force supporters still interested in this match, (and I hope there are many), I would like you to know that that when Mrs D and I sit down to watch the match tonight, Mrs D will be wearing one of her Wallabies jerseys, I shall be wearing my 1999 jersey, complemented by...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Thanks for your comprehensive reply, oztimmay. 1. The bad "vibe": I think you're onto something, as I'm sure every Western Force supporter here, plus the players, officials, and the Rugby community across Western Australia, would all regard the Western Force as having been their Rugby...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

oztimmay, it doesn't necessarily need to involve the "breaking of a law, or company rule". It can be a 'public perception'. If Cheika said, "I'm going to ask my players to try and put as many All Blacks in hospital on Saturday, as they can", that isn't breaking any 'law, or company rule', but it...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Given the ongoing adverse media publicity, such as a sports forum on ABC National TV last Sunday, (where the ARU board was described as "totally corrupt" and "technically bankrupt"), at what stage does an organisation (e.g. the Western Force or WARU), or an individual (e.g. Andrew Forrest), have...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

bigmac, this may have already been mentioned in this thread, but it was brought up on ABC TV's "Offsiders" last Sunday, that a name being, mentioned as Pulver's replacement is Raelene Castle, CEO of the Bulldogs NRL club. She has resigned from the Bulldogs effective at the end of the NRL season...
