Porecki is a bit quicker and plays more like an extra loose forward. Probably more effective at the back end of games?

Agreed. I also think that Fainga'a has been more effective around the paddock and adds weight at scrum time.

I have said it before. He is not suited to test footy. That card was a killer but once again his stalling play snuffed out a lot of opportunity.

I’d start Kellaway at 15 and put Marky Mark (Nawaqanitawase) on the wing. Campbell gets a rest for his noggin. Hodge could also start since he is also well rested.

I reckon Quade, Foley, Hodge and probably Donaldson around the squad. Then build a new regime post RWC

Commitment is admirable and necessary but it must be rewarded or else it dries up

The coaches selection of the 23 put them in a bad position. Sending Donaldson on with 5 to go and trailing by a score was not an astute move. Hodge should have been on the pine. If he was not fit then Foley. White too. This was a very important test for us. The only one on tour that was a near...

Yes. I think Gibbon learned a lot this test. He is adequate off the bench but not a starter. With a decent loose head we would have dominated the scrum from the start.

I dont buy that in this case. If you are a Super Rugby hooker with a chance of being selected for your country you throw balls until you cannot get it wrong. The lineout is complex and there are a lot of moving parts, however hookers can get their part right. FWIW I thought several of the Italian throws...

    From what? Is he injured?
  11. Joe Blow

Its mind numbing that Hodge was not in the 23

I thought he was OK but they just didn’t gel at all. Something that you would feel was a pretty good chance of happening since half of them have had little game time recently together, as you say. There was nothing on the bench to arrest the situation if it went pear shaped outside of TT. Surely...

I think Rennie has to go. The selections were arrogant and Australia was dusted accordingly. The replacements were ill timed which further lifted the Italians. Fair play to them. They are a decent side but there is no way that a loss to them on this tour is acceptable. Rennie goes with McKellar...

Hodge comes on to the pine, or maybe Kellaway.

Wright, Marky Mark (Nawaqanitawase) and Petaia in a back 3 sounds like fire works

I think we will see him and likely in the centres at some point. I still feel that 13 is his best position.

I like it. Solid tight five, mobile back row with lineout juice and speed to burn out wide. We are lacking playmaker experience on the bench but I reckon this team could rack up a score.

One or two a little suspect but he was like a seagull on to a chip

Partially, but it also requires a player to see the play several seconds ahead and put themselves in the right position to contest. Not Hoopers strength but it was Poeys and Smiths. McReight is the same. He is invariably in the right spot to challenge.

I see him as being at the same level as FF (Folau Fainga'a) and Porecki, or thereabouts. No point bringing him in when you have them, Lonergan, Pollard and a couple of others at home.
