Wallabies v Scotland, Murrayfield, Sun 30th Oct, 3.30am AEDT

McReight is the logical next long term skipper after the RWC. He has played very well with limited opportunity and will only get better. What time will we get the team?

    Wallabies 2023

It would be good for Swain to go but also would not mind having a look at Staniforth
  3. Joe Blow

    Wallabies 2023

Agree, but if he is surrounded by Skelton, Philip, Valetini and Hooper maybe his finesse will work. He is busy and creates opportunity in attack along with his lineout work. His defence is good. Could bring balance to the pack?

    Wallabies 2023

Robertson is a good pick. Always stands up in the set piece and is busy around the park. A no nonsense prop.

He was excellent. Very quick off the base and strong in contact. Also had some nice carries. One to watch!

In Lolesios defence, he is able to take the heavy physicality of test footy and put his body on the line in defence. That is worth a lot. I suspect Edmed will be the same. Not sure about Donaldson in that regard but his passing and kicking skills appear to be a little better than the other two.

Donaldson has looked pretty good for the A side. A tour to the north should help push him along.

I’d put my money on Quade being fit well within time to make the RWC.

I’m not sure if thats on the money. Look at Daugunu and Marky Mark (Nawaqanitawase). Both have gone looking for the ball when it did not come their way. I also question that he has been good in defense. He has made a couple of tackles but has also been caught out as many or more times, particularly in the first...

Do we get what the A coaches consider their best 23 this week? I think that side would win comfortably against the Japan 15.

Every coach has picked him and he has been good on this tour. Wilson was ineffective again(unfortunately as I am a massive fan), Leota is out and Holloway has been a bit ho hum. Assuming Valetini is 8 and Hooper/McReight is 7 then a good option is someone who is a legit target in the lineout and...

I thought Ned was very good, close to MOM for Oz A. He brings a lot to the pack and with no one grabbing 6 by the scruff of the neck I expect him to go on tour and to be in contention to start. Vunivalu was again underwhelming. Hopefully Stewart gets a start next week. His class was apparent as...

    Good to snatch the win.

Hanigan playing well. Has to be a chance to play 6 for the Wallabies soon. Vunivalu having another tough day at the office.

I reckon Daugunu is worth a look for now. He seems to have lost a step in pace but is very good in one on one situations and has improved his offloading. Flook will be the guy to watch when fit. Petaia has played his best test footy at 13. Perese also looks an out and out 13.

    Wallabies 2023

Thats a very interesting article and the stats are telling. No question Hooper is still our best choice at 7 with McReight bridging the gap accordingly. Samu offers a lot from the bench against tiring attacks and I think he and Gleeson will fill that role for now behind Hooper or McReight.

Frost has all the makings of a very good lock. He is so young but already has had an impact at test level. He is fast and has great hands and will only get better at set piece. Playing the full 80 and still being full of play in the last minute was impressive.

Australia A v Japan XV matches

I thought Donaldson had a good game. His kicking all around was very good and he took control

Australia A v Japan XV matches

It looks like as sure thing. Marky Mark (Nawaqanitawase) works.
  20. Joe Blow

Australia A v Japan XV matches

Yes. He has some big gaps in his game. Mostly defence and hes vulnerable to the ball kicked over his shoulder. He will get eaten up at test level. On the other hand Marky Mark (Nawaqanitawase) looks in stellar form.
