RWC: IRE v FRA (POOL D) Mon 12th@2:45am

The Irish replacements have all done well so far. The fact they've all had decent game time this RWC meant they've just slotted in.

RWC: IRE v FRA (POOL D) Mon 12th@2:45am

We need to score again soon before the French have their purple patch.

we need cooler heads and better hands when we make space.

No Sexton and POC. Going to do this one the hard way.

RWC: AUS v WAL (Twickenham): POOL A; 2:45am (AEDT) Sunday 11 October

You're absolutely right Shiggins is the only one who saw the knee. If he hadn't said anything then no one else would have ever spotted it. I think his position standing on the grassy knoll gave him the only unobscured view of the incident.

RWC: IRE v FRA (POOL D) Mon 12th@2:45am

The problem with Ireland is that we seem to almost need that flat performance to then produce a response in the next game. If we do respond today against France then there's no catalyst for a similar performance against the Pumas.

    RWC: Argentina v Namibia

It's a pretty decent way to warm up for their QF. They don't need to tax themselves too much. Scoring tries will leave players in a confident mood and they can save their best for the winner of Ireland v France who in contrast are likely to have to empty the tank. Then get up again for another...

RWC QF 1 WAL v RSA (Twickenham) 18th Oct 0200 AEDT

The upside of Wales not taking the points is that they have a chance to learn from it this RWC. No such luck for Chris Robshaw and England.

RWC QF 4 AUS v SCO (Twickenham) 19th Oct 0200 AEDT

On paper the Wallabies should be too strong for Scotland. But most sides who believe in easy RWC QFs get the privilege of watching the rest of the competition at home in front of their TV. QFs can turn into a blow out but that's because the side that won took it seriously and brought their A...

RWC: AUS v WAL (Twickenham): POOL A; 2:45am (AEDT) Sunday 11 October

I was thinking the same about Cuthbert too. He's like a cheap knock off of North. At first glance he looks pretty similar but once you look closer you realise that the "Gucci" bag is going to fall apart the first time there's a light shower. His basic skills just aren't up to scratch. He...

RWC: IRE v FRA (POOL D) Mon 12th@2:45am

If they'd like to continue to fly under the radar in order to ambush NZ in the QFs I think the whole of Ireland would be OK with that!

RWC: SAM v SCO (Newcastle): POOL B

Some start to this game so far. Not fantastic defending from either team but it's bloody exciting.

I hope Trimble gets called up. For me he's the player who's improved most under Schmidt.

Payne is out of the World Cup with a fractured foot.

    24 Team World Cup

The European teams already have 2nd teams that do tours, the Saxons, Wolfhounds etc. But they're used to open markets that are seen as commercially viable long term. For many years that meant attending the Churchill Cup in the US. Ireland sent an Emerging Ireland (Ireland C) team to Georgia to...

    24 Team World Cup

Sadly the Challenge Cup got fucked over by the English and French team revolts. The restructuring of the European Cup (Formerly Heineken Cup) and the Challenge Cup sees less places for lesser nations and instead the Challenge Cup is flooded with teams from the lower reaches of the Aviva, Top...

    24 Team World Cup

I said it before on another thread. I'm all for expanding the number of teams in the RWC. The development of the sport is ultimately about people. The Romanian players who played Ireland in front of 90,000 people will be the inspiration and in some cases the coaches of the next generation...

RWC: IRE v FRA (POOL D) Mon 12th@2:45am

If you've ever seen Munster fans travel to France for big European Cup games you'll know distance and cost is no barrier to a tonne of Paddies turning up at your stadium. If Irish fans can get a ticket, think they might be able to get a ticket, know someone who's cousin's hairdresser's...

RWC: IRE v FRA (POOL D) Mon 12th@2:45am

Ireland should beat France in this one. But over the last decade there have been many times that we should have beaten France and haven't. Given our record against NZ this game is almost a knockout game for us. Ireland really haven't impressed me so far this RWC. I guess I'm waiting for Joe...
