Yes. I never got the logic of JS. Phenomenal athlete for sure but not really bringing any TV eyeballs with him. Folau was an NRL icon so that made more sense. As were Sailor and Co. Glad Waugh (presumably) put his foot down regarding the former Scots inside centre.

My point is that you can’t blame him for not being a rugby diehard when he’s seen that you’re on your own. No loyalty or harm in trying out for NRL (ahem) ‘royalty’. …and NSW IIs is indeed a high level, but you’re never getting picked for Aus schoolboys from there…He found his way up through...

At the risk of banging-on about the pathways… Mark N (Nawaqanitawase) couldn’t get a gig in the mainstream RA pathways, was always on the fringe, having gone to an unfashionable school. A person clearly of immense talent, was playing NSW IIs from memory. BPA was another example.

I am waiting for Teddy Wilson to come into his own. That kid is an exceptional talent. Really hoping he can capitalise on it.

I’m not taking it personally. He started out in advertising. Since then he’s been buying and merging companies. Then at Magellen he’s been part of a ‘dynamic’ investment culture The comment was more about his style than a job title.

I don’t think it’s necessarily ‘narrow minded’ to fail to actively consider a coach with no international experience whose 7 years in the Top League have delivered one championship I mean sure, he’s an accomplished coach - but his record is hardly demanding to be heard

Kenny your intel is backed up by observation in reality, the pathways are like the what they used to say about the Kangaroos. .. ’harder to get out of, than they are to get into’ Australian rugby will never be able to break out of the cycle until we address this specific problem. The pathway...

This is what Eddie said when he got fired by England. Sound familiar? https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2023/sep/01/eddie-jones-blames-rfu-for-england-poor-form-rugby-world-cup#:~:text=Jones%2C%20now%20in%20charge%20of,into%20the%20Rugby%20World%20Cup. TLDR? Eddie Jones believes the Rugby...

They're both good players, so you've always got the potential for anything and you're always going to get more good games than bad games out of them. Anecdotally(?) they're good for say...7 games out of 10? Link always used to talk about looking for a 'budgetted performance' out of a player...

Both Swinton and Swain are now 26 years old. Happy to try and coach them but they're surely now old enough to be out of the 'brain snap' period.

Sure. The review (anyway) has little chance of seriously canvassing other options, so they may as well use it to rubber stamp their preferred option.
