He upset the Kiwis Deluxe for a while and that’s a happy memory. :) :)

    Shute Shield 2024

Exactly. I think a lot of this rivalry is overblown by the windbags on the telly (yes, I'm looking at you, Vossy) So many juniors play both codes and frequently switch back and forth, at all levels. At Colts (especially) I'll see 'X" playing - and then find out his NRL club told him to 'go...

    Shute Shield 2024

Good post. On this part..I was talking to one of the main guys at West Harbour who share Concord Oval with the Tigers. He said they were brilliant to work with, lots of mutual respect. They even 'shared' coaches and while I was there they were running joint drills for the NRLW team

    Shute Shield 2024

I don't feel it's social rugby. I feel it's representing your area/tribe/club, being part of a thing. All these guys could go to subbies, but they don't. They know they're not going pro, but running out on the village green in front of the grandstand (who probably only came to watch first...

Randwick also right? 4th grade play as UNSW?

    Shute Shield 2024

Yes. Definitely. The subbies have a big selling-point with the 3-year colt eligibility scheme.

Still predominantly locals, plus a fair few backpackers. The previous coach did a bit of recruiting (he had been coach at Riverview) but that was a bit of a fizzer There's almost too many guys in the system. Had ~140 guys in the program last year. Enough for 5 teams. Even running 4 teams, every...

I’m thinking we’re a bit cool on the idea. :D

Reds could do with a bit of mongrel, Harry Wilson’s angry-face notwithstanding.

Pangai Jnr’s boxing career may be short-lived possibly now heading to the Dolphins maybe he’d stop by Ballymore on the way

Well, we beat Eastwood in the final, so that was a bonus. ;) :)

I feel duty bound to point out that Colts 3s was won by the mighty Marlins.

Hooper was only ever going to be a forward. He still has that explosive 0-to-5m speed coming off the ruck, that would have made him one of the most lethal backrowers in the NRL if he’d gone there Exploiting that newfound space to make a break and offload to someone else with longline speed is...

    Wallabies 2023

I’d personally put up a scholarship* if they could guarantee me they’d teach the fuckers how to box kick reliably (*statement may not be true)

Axiomatically, if he was ‘too slow for 7s’, then they wouldn’t have signed him it’s not a charity.

Clearly, my recollection of Mark N (Nawaqanitawase)’s pathway progress isn’t as reliable as I thought it was. :)

He’s a tireless trainer. Will often see him out on his own (presumably) doing extras. Hopefully the program they design for him does as you say, and looks after him.
