    2017 Under-20 Competitions including Oceania & World U20s

I was trying to find out the details of the Super U20s fixtures as I couldn't find where they are here. Found a link on the Brumbies site in case anybody else had the same problem: https://www.brumbies.com.au/2017/02/brumbies-u20s-push-maiden-title-2017/ .

    Western Force 2017

Good news and it's case where a player left in his younger years to scratch the itch to go, and returned for his older years.

    2017 Under-20 Competitions including Oceania & World U20s

Watch out for hooker Phil Bradford in the future; he's played at hooker and loosehead prop for Australian Schools. He's in great shape. He's active enough for the backrow and plays it a bit like Tatafu Polota-Nau - who was a backrower at school and then was changed to hooker by the Brumbies...

    2017 Under-20 Competitions including Oceania & World U20s

No, not great conditions - and even after the rain went there was a lot of water on the ground for the rest of the match. Uni dropped the ball a lot also then but not as much as the 20s did. Captain - I forgot to mention Johnson-Holmes and Strang as possibilities. .

    2017 Under-20 Competitions including Oceania & World U20s

The NSW Gen Blues U20s had a hit out against a Sydney Uni team this arvo and Uni turned out winners 17-7 - I think. When the U20s had their main players on, it was an even game with a lot of big hits from both teams. The Uni team was older and just had that year or three of growth over the 20s...

    Waratahs v Highlanders trial - Thursday 16 February 2017

Just back from the game. Was disappointed in the Tahs run on team v the Clan's version - it was boys against men. And how gifted was Sopoaga and how brutal Naholo? Every time the Clan got the ball it was a surprise that they didn't score; often they only had blades of grass to stop them...

    Western Force 2017

^^^^^^^^ Newsome has always been a Steady-Eddie kind of a player since he was at school. Every team needs them though not too many. That seems like slight praise but when you look back at what he did in a game you realise how valuable he was to the team and individual team mates. I had the...

    2017 Under-20 Competitions including Oceania & World U20s

^^^^^^ Ha ha - he told me a few days before that he was hoping to play that weekend after being injured for yonks - but I imagined that he was talking about the U20 curtain raiser against a Country team before the Super Rugby trial, not for the Tahs. He's a big enough lad for U20s but his...

Thanks Simon - will send you a convo.

It looks like Lachlan Swinton will be fit for the NSW Gen Blue U20s after being with Team Rehab for yonks. He played in the Brisbane 10s for the Waratahs. .

    Western Force 2017

Hi guys - we are still looking for a few people to write on Western Force previews and match reviews and especially Sandgropers, because we have only one WA writer at the moment. Just one week - writing the preview and match report for the same week - is all we ask. But you don't have to be...

The Bowral trial game has been cancelled - no news of re-schedule, if any. .

    2017 Under-20 Competitions including Oceania & World U20s

The trial will be played earlier at 10:30 because the weather forecast is for 41 degrees. Here is a list of Brumbies U20 surnames - no other details available: Squad V NSW U20’s – Bowral 11 Feb Hancock / Kaihea / Cushan Thomas / Wolske Wagner / Gordon Swain / Goodwin-Shaw Verryne / Sankey...

    2017 Under-20 Competitions including Oceania & World U20s

^^^^^ That makes sense Badger - and if it's the case it looks like the NSW U20s have done well in separating the younger players to attend to their different needs on and off the field - as mentioned in a blog a little while back - and are now treating them all the same for their last two trials...

    2017 Under-20 Competitions including Oceania & World U20s

^^^^^^^ Don't know and I can't go anyway. I thought the next trial was in Bowral on Saturday v. the Brumbs U20s. Just looking at the NSW Gen Blue U20s team again that played last Saturday against the Country senior players at Mudgee (the curtain raiser for the Super Rugby trial) - I now...

    Sydney 7's: 3 - 5 February

It was a poor crowd at the stadium today and some of the rugby was a lot better than that. Even if a team was well-beaten the crowd almost always had a reason to cheer a good try by the underdogs. - Aus looked good in the first two games but the physical Fiji team was able to find gaps in...

    2017 Under-20 Competitions including Oceania & World U20s

I think that starting XV is close to being it's best though I haven't seen as much of them at this time of the year as I normally do. McCauley is obviously not available at lock since he will play with the senior Tahs in their trial. The starters don't have a lot of U19 players which is good...

    Waratahs 2017

So there will definitely be a blog about it Reg and you will process it? That's good because somebody else was asking if I needed a report but being at the Sevens all day and having Six Nations blogs to do I'd struggle to have time to process anything. On Mac Jones - at least Wilkin was from...

    Sydney 7's: 3 - 5 February

There will be a lot of our Gold Medalists playing in Sydney but there seems to be SFA interest in them here. But don't rush out to see them in the quarter-finals at Allianz Stadium on Saturday because they will be playing over the road on Kippax Field near the duck pond and surrounded by...
