    2017 Under-20 Competitions including Oceania & World U20s

He would be great at 13 at the U20 level as he was in the NRC last year; but the Reds started him against the Crusaders (on the wing) last Saturday night and it is doubtful that they would release him for U20s if they think he's going to be a regular. We can strut around on the keyboard and...

    2017 Under-20 Competitions including Oceania & World U20s

    - I wouldn't get too excited about the team lists that show left lock and right lock and ditto for centres - it's an historical thing through all kinds of rugby. For Super Rugby games (and no doubt others) the managers have to give the team lists in that format at a prescribed time before the...

    2017 Under-20 Competitions including Oceania & World U20s

A lot of discussion about the halves - I mean 9 and 10. I haven't seen Queensland play yet because of streaming problems but I look forward to seeing their young blokes in action. It was good to see both both McGregor and Goddard play footie again. Jack Mac's injury at the Tahs U20s in 2016...

    2017 Under-20 Competitions including Oceania & World U20s

Yeah they get a bee in the bonnet about a certain player don't they and won't be budged - not that Moseley was a dud by any means. From a NSW Gen Blue aspect, "Mad Dog" McLennan of Gen Blue got a good wrap when he came on - he can be a penalty magnet but behaved himself this time. Reserve...

Silverado - post before last. Thanks for that, I'll give that a go.

    2017 Under-20 Competitions including Oceania & World U20s

Anybody got a link to the streaming of the two games on the weekend? I'm hopeless at finding them and can't see anything on the Tahs website as I read this for the one today, and they are the home team. I found the Force one last week thanks to help in this thread, but thought I could watch...

    2017 Under-20 Competitions including Oceania & World U20s

Interesting to see Alec Sheldon nominated at fullback. He is little-known even to staunch schoolboy rugby fans in Sydney as he played for Grammar in Sydney GPS rugby, and their 1st XV played against the 3rds of the six big GPS rugby schools. It says a lot that he was chosen for GPS in 2016...

^^^^^^^^^^^^ Foley failed his Thursday concussion test.

    2017 Under-20 Competitions including Oceania & World U20s

So did the selectors last year. As I have mentioned before in this thread: Hocking was only 17 when he was selected for the Aus U20s in 2016 - being preferred to McCauley who was a year and change older. They are similar players and both will be senior loosehead locks, and both have to be...

He's a good'un alright but he's only 18. He's not a bruiser like Rodda and Tui so it's unlikely he will expect a full contract for next year. And if you want to make room - we'll have Tui back in Sydney, if you like. Anything to help out. .

^^^^^^ NSW no.8 Justin Cooper is out for the season most likely. There is a blog on the NSW v Force U20s here: https://goo.gl/8FYPUL Give it a click. .

    Round 1 2017 Waratahs v Force

Both coaches said at the presser that they were disappointed with the conditions and they couldn't put much of their training content to use. In the afternoon I was at the U20s game, over the road from the Stadium, and the ground was very wet there I can tell you. A poor exhibition of...

    2017 Under-20 Competitions including Oceania & World U20s

Exciting game NSW v Force but wet conditions and wind caused a lot of mistakes from both teams and when one went ahead the other side was able to get back in from dropped ball. THP Shambeckler Vui a standout for the Force - his coach told me he is convinced he is Super Rugby material and I...

    2017 Under-20 Competitions including Oceania & World U20s

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Good to see Harrison Goddard and Jack McGregor, who were schoolboy stars, emerge. Goddard was hampered by injuries in training for the NSW U20s last year in his U/19 year and didn't perform at his best in the trials. I don't think he made the team. McGregor was on track to...

    2017 Under-20 Competitions including Oceania & World U20s

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ No it's not - No. 8 Max Girdler is in the reserves which I find extraordinary. But if they think Cooper is better, good luck to him - he's a goer. Not a lot of depth at flyhalf come to think of it more, not that flyhalf is Wilkinson's best position anyway. .

I should check my emails more - I had it earlier. That's the same starting team that played in the last trial, except that McCauley is playing at lock. It's a strong team with only the two U/19s starting in it again. There's no excuses if NSW don't do well this year. .
