    2017 Under-20 Competitions including Oceania & World U20s

Shambeckler Vui has been named in the reserves to play for the Force against the Blues at Eden Park in Super Rugby on Saturday. The Force U20s coach told me a few weeks ago that he was a sure future Super Rugby player - and it looks like he's right. Not bad for a 19 year-old THP. .

RD 6 2017: The Auckland Blues VS The Western Force.

Under 20s player Shambeckler Vui The Force U20 coach told me a few weeks ago that he was "making a call" that the 19-year-old THP would play Super Rugby one day - and he is. Wow. .

    Round 6: Waratahs v Crusaders - Sunday 2 April 2017 4pm

Wow Mack Mason eh? As I said on the U20s thread recently I thought he was the best back in the Aussie U20 team in Manchester last year - not that it was a high bar. Not shy of a tackle either - that year he spent with the Melbourne Storm and learning stuff from old Aussie Schools rugby union...

The best XV of players from any school

Geez this old thread has some legs - just started it one day when I was bored. Lived in NZ for 8 years in the olden days including all my high school years. Played against Fergie - and with him in Canterbury junior rep teams. Hard bastard; even then he took no prisoners; he played first-five...

    2017 Under-20 Competitions including Oceania & World U20s

I meant that I thought that Plummer was better as a schoolboy player than Sopaga and McKenzie were when they played for NZ Schools in the games that I saw. McKenzie played first-five at Knox as a schoolboy, by the way...

    2017 Under-20 Competitions including Oceania & World U20s

Beale was the best schools' 10 I will ever see, and the best schoolboy in any position, but young Plummer was the best NZ Schools first-five that I can remember. See the blog on the NZ v Aus Schools game last year here about Plummer: https://goo.gl/c1gkkO IMO better than Lima Sopoga and...

Final Yep - 2:00pm AEST - and since NSW changes to back to AEST that morning, AEDT no longer applies. .

Thanks - I had a senior moment and was fooled by the first game being on Friday, not Saturday. I'll see myself out. .

As usual I can't find a link to the livestream of today's game. I'm hopeless. It's supposed to be on the Rugby.com site but I can't find it. Anybody got a link to the exact page please - or have I missed it already? .

    2017 Under-20 Competitions including Oceania & World U20s

Truth be told the Gen Blue roster is not that strong. The tight five forwards were always going to be sound but you could see that even in warm-up games the backs were no great shakes. I just thought they just needed some time together in comp games but they haven't improved. At least their...

Was strong over the ball when he came off the bench v. NZ Schools wasn't he - despite not being the biggest. Let's see how he bulks up for next year - if he can. .

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Agree on Leota when I have seen him - and I've said in the past that the Rebels will do Aus rugby a service if they get him to be an 80 minute player. But the jury is still out on that mission. The NSW no. 6 mentioned above is Lachlan Swinton, who may benefit at the camp by...

    2017 Under-20 Competitions including Oceania & World U20s

I saw the Queensland U20s play for the first time on the Saturday stream. They are clearly the dominant team with more players likely to get on the plane to Georgia than any other. I was impressed with their 10 Stewart and I thought he was better than Mason last year in Sydney - and I thought...

    2017 Under-20 Competitions including Oceania & World U20s

Wow - that's a surprise announcing it so early. It's good that something different is being done. Cron must be appalled at some of the skill levels he has seen and no doubt given instruction to the state people about what each of the individuals have to work on before they get to Bond. We...

Round 4: Waratahs v Brumbies- Saturday 18 March 7:45pm AEDT, Allianz Stadium, Sydney

Thanks for providing those details - they are the first I have seen on the Bond timetable. So it's a different format again - not playing the Kiwis twice as they did last year, which was the best way to make the final assessment of players for the Worlds. The Super Rugby players who haven't...
