    Wallabies v Wales, 6 July

We are coming from a very low base. Even through Rennies time we were just a speed bump in the RC. The less said about EJs little foray the better. Schmidt will hopefully build from the ground up, as he did in Ireland. He has good people around him and up is the only way to go.

    Wallabies 2024

Yes?? Does all the basics very well. Will go all day and is a proven leader. Deals well with refs and teammates. No nonsense. And yes, check the stats. One of the best lineout forwards in Oz. Top two no question.

I think some are selling him short. He will most likely be our next long term skipper. First one who really fits the mould since Hooper. Great player. Does the graft, hard on the ball and is one of the best in Oz at lineout time, maybe the best?

No longer has the raw speed and Lancaster has the height to be a threat in the air. Ditto for under the high ball in defence.

I would guess that this is pretty close. I would start Lancaster on the wing and have Daugunu on the bench in place of Pietsch to cover 13-14.

2024 Under 20 Rugby Champs all match discussion thread

I felt some of the replacements were better, tougher and held their own up front. I’m sure there will be some tinkering. It was annoying that they kicked away possession a lot in the first half. I think the fullback was guilty a few times, but then got some nice little kicks in behind to turn...

2024 Under 20 Rugby Champs all match discussion thread

Was Barret the LH who started? He was getting served up in the scrum. His replacement was excellent. Ref allowed the Georgians to be metres offside for 3/4 of the game and thats why their ‘line’ speed looked so good early. Looked as though the props leg collapsed just above the ankle when he...

If Beale was playing club footy it’s unlikely he will be in the 23 next week. Sad for him. Hope he heals quickly. We have Wright and Kellaway as 15s in the squad and several options at 12. I would add Kuenzle if there is a spot.

And Kailea, Nongoor and Bell. Any young props that come through. I’m certain that he will shore up the scrum if not make it a bit of a weapon. AAA and Slipper or Hodgman starting.

    Wallabies 2024

I think he is going to be the key. This bloke is the best scrum coach on the planet. I think Tupou, Kailea and any other youngish props in the squad this year will take huge steps forward in technique, as will our scrum in general.

    Wallabies 2024

Agree. Looking at our locking options locally there is not a lot of experience. I would take a few of them ahead of the Arnolds for sure. Richie is looking decent over there this year.

    Wallabies 2024

Not the saviours but definitely a few blokes that could add a little spine. Right now Skelton, Koreibete, The Arnolds(although they might be past it) and maybe Scotty Sio due to lack of props. There are no “saviours” but with Super Rugby collapsing on itself slowly but surely, soon we will have a model...

    Wallabies 2024

I’d guess that this is coming faster than most think. The policy for the RC will be interesting and with a view to the Lions series next year I think we will go full Saffa.

Kuenzle is a utility and I would also have gone with him. Daugunu earned his spot. 12 is where we really lack depth. Both KB (Kurtley Beale) and Kuenzle can play there Among other positions.

    Wallabies 2024

60% sounds golden to me. I’d take that in 2024 and beyond. I agree that Beale is not the answer but no doubt Schmidt wants to put a little experience in the squad. We are lacking experience in the second row at hooker and in the backs in general. Slipper and AAA in the forwards and White and...

My bet is Lancaster to join Wright and Kellaway in the back 3 with Flook on the bench.

And still young enough to have great potential also at 13 and 15. Has a huge boot!
  18. Joe Blow

    Wallabies 2024

No way Canham is looked at as a 6. If you want a tall hybrid type player then surely Hooper/Frost/LSL (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto)/Cale fill that spot before him. Canham is worthy of a squad spot and maybe a run against Georgia. He's a lock for the future no doubt. If the plan is to bring in Skelton for the RC then likely...

MK as a running back maybe?

    Aussie Player Exodus

What position would Petaia play in NFL? His shortcomings as rugby player would be multiplied in the game. Ball security and his habitual falling to injury. Are there any teams seriously looking at him outside of his apparent willingness to give american football a shot? With the Rebels folding...
