Most of the XV picks itself judging from the various posts here. My take on contentious spots other than front row which I'll defer to people with a clue thanks; Horwill will play, Jones bench. Hard to pass up Horwills experience and passion. Fardy, Hooper, Palu, Higgers bench for his utility...

Yes Archies Dad would be a great result.

Meh no sooner do I express my fears about losing key players than this happens. Explains Harris though.

    Rebels 2014

Crazy as it may sound, I have taken a lot of heart from this year. The team now defends as a team, and for the most part plays as a team. They are a green side that has benefited from the experienced confidence of players like Ellison. My only fear is that we may suffer too much player change...

it was magic to see a glimpse or three of the Genia of old, showing urgency round the rucks and keeping the oppsn honest by the odd scything run.

To'omua will be 12, it is clear McKenzie wants to continue with the two playmaker model. It is a style of rugby that hopefully fosters a running game, and we have a few candidates that would fit in at 12. Even JOC (James O'Connor) and Giteau. Only two selectable and in form though - Beale and To'omua. To'omua is...

While I agree Toomoua is both of those things, both of them play a direct uncomplicated style ball in hand, and both are very good defenders. Both were played at inside centre early in their int'l career. Toomoua is a lot closer to DC's style of play at flyhalf than he is to Beale or Cooper. And...

Re To'omua at 12, I wonder how Dan Carter's career would have gone had he been kept at centre due to his direct play and defensive ability? Cockamamie idea to me worthy of Deans.

If I was more confident Higgers would lock down 8 I'd vote Higgers for Captain. The unity and clarity he has brought to the Rebels has been reflected in cohesive performances from a largely green team. He knows McKenzie well and I believe has the ability to bring a positivity and direction to...

I agree with that BDA but I sure do miss the Genia that was electric. Some of it is no doubt confidence, some of it teams being better at shutting him down. It always seemed to me his gift was being in action so quick the opposition couldn't read him. I can't help thinking he needs to spend...

On Ellison, he has been huge for us this year, his read of play, speed and aggression have so often meant he was the first man there, more often than not turning the tide. Inman has benefited from playing aside him. On possibly losing a key kiwi player, I can see Woodward being tempted. The...

Can't say I liked their game myself, they shut the game down, but they sure do that well.

    Rebel v Tahs, round 15 2014

Yes, a big loss. Thought Meehan did well for first start, decisive and injected himself. Inman played hard but English was largely missing. Good play by Tahs, Horne again showed good strength, just that nagging doubt he still has meme disease.

Yeah 50 50 I agree but Higgers did get games so going with him, besides he is the Rebels Captain. Gotta show the love.

Hard to pass on Beale's incredible talent, given space he can bamboozle any player on the planet. I'd have him in the back three or reserve for same. Give him a remit to inject himself and to create for Folau in counter attack from depth. But please, not at centre, he needs space, is that...
