Rassie has all the AC-Ts in his closet for spares!

    Beale to Tahs, where?

I also heard it as JOC (James O'Connor) for 12 which will be interesting given Lilo is there atm. Beale to FB for mine. EOYT will be interesting with all that backline competition.

I think Mogg has huge potential as a test fullback. His running is remniscent of Cullen, not quite Cullen's pace, but a real slipperiness and speed suited to fullback. Add his usually excellent kicking and he becomes very desirable. His defence worries me I will say.

New Zealand vs Australia - Bledisloe 2, 24th August 2013

I thought Drew put in some great performances towards the end of the season myself. Vs Force he was integral to the win for example. He wasn't the force he was in 2010 this year but by end season his stats were looking pretty good with 9.5+ m per run and a decent set of line breaks and try...

Where did we go wrong? Wallaby Recovery thread.

I haven't watched a replay yet, kudos to those who had the stomach to, so I'll reserve some comment on players till I do, but I thought i might make some observations about the game. Firstly, possession was fairly close, with 53% to the kiwis, 3 mins 20 to our 2 mins 52, in the 22. But the...

Nope I just hit the keyboard for random letters, what is your excuse? As for JOC (James O'Connor) and Genia you are wasting your breath, both players are class and will be selected for the next test. Not saying they had good games, but they are players who find a way.

Lets drop the two try scorers. o_O

Where did we go wrong? Wallaby Recovery thread.

I had few issues with how we played in the first half. My simple observation would be that as soon as we changed and tried to play hard, fast, wide, the All Blacks notched up a gear. They fed off the speed, while we fractured our lines in both attack and defense. It took the Tahs months of...

Aus vs NZ - 1st Test Sydney 17Aug2013

Mowen almost averaged 6m per carry (5.83 to be precise). Higgers is the only loosey to beat him (6.19 per carry). Palu made a very respectable 5.34, but has easily the highest metreage per game due to his insanely high workrate.

    Rebels 2014

Woodward is a future Wallaby for sure. There is some competition around 15 now but the boy is to good to be held out long, by the time he qualifies he'll be GTG.

    Rebels 2014

Recruitment takes a lot of planning and many were calling for Phipps to be canned twelve plus months ago, I'm a fan of him and sorry to see him go, kudos to him for being a class act despite the contracts. Not worried about our scrumhalf, Burgo and Stirzaker is a damn good pair. I am concerned...

    Western Force 2014

Given the current standard of the comp, where any given team has the capability to beat the top team, mid-comp would be a great result, its a tough and healthy comp. And I gently disagree ChargerWA about future behaviour vis a vis past behaviour. Reds, Chiefs and Cheetahs have all been great...

Wallabies Squad - the Link Era

Matt To'omua expected to get the nod at No.10 ahead of Quade Cooper for Bledisloe opener Wonder if this is true.

Wallabies Squad - the Link Era

Wouldn't be much of a rugby forum without selection debate :D But there is surprisingly little change. Even McCalman, who certainly raised plenty of eyebrows in the Deans era, is in. Douglas too. The surprises aren't really, Sio for example has been a standout prop in recent months, and much...

    New Zealand squad announced

Agree with ACR that Aaron Smith will come right, he showed real class last year and it will be there again this year. Also not sold on TKB but I think Hansen is doing the right thing pulling all three of them in. Perenara was a livewire last year but has lacked fizz this year, as have the...

Wallabies Squad - the Link Era

Look I'm as leery of your one eyed fans as any here, and I am utterly over the serious noise levels generated any time someone dares to criticize Cooper, but I have to say that is trolling Pfitzy. Not up to your usual standards of frank but fair commentary!

    Reds 2014

FWA, Drew played 764 minutes total, about the same as Nanai-Williams and not much less than O'Connor (896). That those three hit those figures with only 800mins or so is telling - all the others played 1100 plus. Cooper for example played 1280, ie every minute of every game which is also a...

    Reds 2014

Thanks J. Rugbystats.com.au, ruckingoodstats.com, are good, also sites like espn's statsguru, fox etc. The hard part is compiling subsets you need, each site brings pros and cons. Be wary if using for any kind of work purpose or chunk type reporting as copyright will usually apply. Another...

Wallabies Squad - the Link Era

If the Wallabies get thrashed by the Kiwis McKenzie will get roasted by the press. He has not been backward in pushing his case and others have blown his trumpet hard. But I doubt they will be thrashed, the team is looking the best it has on paper since 2011 and he will use them well. There...

    New Zealand squad announced

6 players in the halves is a lot but makes a lot of sense with only 2 years to the cup.
