Argentina v Australia TRC Round 4 Sunday 8 September 5am (AEST)

Yes - that’s what he said, but I’m not sure the way you are presenting it is a fair reflection of what he meant. I thought Tupou was by far the busiest he has been in a game for about 3 yrs. I assumed he was given instructions (and maybe a kick in the arse) to drain the tank and when he ran out...

Out of interest - do they take a pay cut? I assumed they would be earning the money from NPC on top of their normal income.

    Queensland Reds 2025

I think the difference is that he has actually captured some attention in the media. There are far better players going around at the moment but very few, if any, that got the wider media attention/social media attention he did this year. Not even guys like Tupou, McDermott, Filipo, Wright etc...

Argentina v Australia TRC Round 4 Sunday 8 September 5am (AEST)

Pretty sure he started most games for the Brumbies and captained them a few times. I thought he was one of the best Australian locks this year. But Schmidt may have slightly more idea as to what it takes to be a good test lock than I do.

I don’t think Swain has been in the squad at any stage. Not sure what the issue is but Schmidt doesn’t appear to rate him. Or thinks he has a serious flaw.

    Wallabies 2024

I have no idea what a good strike rate is for a league winger. That doesn’t look terrible to me but I’ll take your word. But I do know he was a hard working player who was always on hand to do the tough yards on kick return and was better at it than a lot of other wingers at the time.

There was also a pretty significant issue in that he replaced George Ford at 12 whose dad, Mike, was assistant coach at the time. Pretty sure I recall in an interview later that Burgess revealed it caused a massive split and quite a lot of undermining.

    Wallabies 2024

You can see the difference because of the way the training and the type of game it is. You don’t see many of the league guys bench pressing the massive weights some of the Union guys do because it’s not nearly as important in terms of functional strength for them. You also don’t get guys with...

Koroibete was an excellent league winger.

Argentina v Australia TRC Round 4 Sunday 8 September 5am (AEST)

I agree in the past - but I don’t think that describes him this year. Certainly in Super Rugby he was making heaps of errors. I’ll admit I haven’t noticed it as much in the tests so far but I’m not seeing those smart plays from him either that you see in the past where he runs the right line...

    Qld Premier Rugby 2024

He does appear to still hold a big chip on his shoulder from whatever went on at Brothers before his departure and it looks to me like the Brothers guys love to needle him. I think this is one of those things were the senior hard heads in the team tend to pull young guys into line. It takes...

    Qld Premier Rugby 2024

Off the top of my head Nic White, Faf de Klerk, Aaron Smith & Nick Phipps all were given yellows in tests for doing stupid shit. Yellow cards weren’t as prelevant back in the day but if I recall correctly Healey’s petulance was so bad even his own team mates would tell him to stop being a dick...

    Qld Premier Rugby 2024

Nic White, Aaron Smith, Nick Phipps, Austin Healey, Faf de Klerk, Byron Kelleher etc etc It’s not necessarily a desirable trait but being annoying and/or extremely angry is almost a rite of passage for a half.

    Argentina v Australia, 8am Sunday 1 Sep (AEST) - TRC Round 3

The Argies dropped plenty of ball. They did better at kick off receipts and it is an issue for us, but overall I thought we handled the conditions better. The crucial last play which led to the penalty included a throw to the back of the line out and multiple phases to the stick and we...

    Argentina v Australia, 8am Sunday 1 Sep (AEST) - TRC Round 3

Played in bone dry conditions against Shute Shield level defence??? I understand everyone’s desire for a better 10, but these sort of comparisons are pointless. The two matches are a world apart in terms of match conditions and defensive pressure.

I guess with Paisami out people were able to really focus their energies on blaming Lolesio.

I must admit having not got a chance to watch the second half until this afternoon and then reading the comments on her afterwards I think the criticism of Lolesio on here is overdone.
