    League Targets

Yeah - the argument that rugby backs are more skillful is pretty outdated. League skills are fantastic - but just in a much narrower range. And they are far more risk adverse due to the nature of the game but some of their passing and kicking is pin point.

Yeah - I’m pretty happy with how Lynagh is going. I just think it’s too early for him to be playing tests but i assume he is there because Schmidt is trying to play the long and short game simultaneously.

Australia v NZ. Bledisloe Cup Series 2024. Sep 21, Sep 28

I don’t think I really denigrated anyone - but apologies if it came across that way. Maybe group think is the wrong term. I have no problems admitting I can get swayed by collective opinions at times and I didn’t really think it was a controversial comment when I made it. I also wrote in the...

I disagree with your assessment of Gordon this year but lots of others clearly don’t - which was my point. A good number of posters appear to think he’s been better than his historic form. I don’t. I’m happy to accept that probably means I’m wrong - but I do think group think sometimes guides...

Australia v NZ. Bledisloe Cup Series 2024. Sep 21, Sep 28

I don’t really understand why people have been so enamoured with Gordon this year. Apart from the first test he’s been much the same player he always has been. Really his only selling point is that neither McDermott nor White are killing it either. By virtue of that he probably is a bit...

    Queensland Reds 2025

Agree - although it seemed George Blake is being developed to at least cover hooker. If that’s fhe case you’d think Asiata might be pushed out given the Reds suddenly have two Wallaby hookers in front of him.

De Lutiis would be a priority for me. Toomaga-Allen will almost certainly be gone after this year I assume and Fa’agase is only on a 1 yr extension too. Edit: And Werchon too.

    Queensland Reds 2025

If Grealy & Petaia are gone, who is our back up 15 at the moment? Aubrey? Maybe McLaughlin-Phillips? Did Anderson play some 15? Don’t think any of Daugunu, Vunivalu or Ryan would be a fit there at the moment, nor Paisami, Henry of Flook. (Maybe Flook could). Am I missing someone? Gordon has...

    Western Force 2025

Seems a good signing for both the Force and Australian Rugby.

    Queensland Reds 2025

I understand a lot of your concerns - although I won’t try and speak to whether the Reds dropped the ball as such. There are always difficulties in squad management and some of them include that you don’t always know how negotiations will pan out with individual players - especially when the...

Argentina v Australia TRC Round 4 Sunday 8 September 5am (AEST)

I think it’s actually one of our biggest failings. I understand why we lose a lot of our best young backrowers, halves and backs as their skills are very interchangeable with league where they can earn more money. But tight 5 guys have far less appeal to league. I don’t really understand why we...

This is one of your posts. You specifically mentioned Skelton, Arnold and Kerevi. That’s what my comment was directed at. Not any general discussion around selection policy.

I’m not questioning who you support. You claim you support the Wallabies. I don’t know you so happy to take you at your word. But you do persist in posting streams of antagonistic posts. You’re far from the only one and it’s understandable with how things are going. But you seem to be the most...

Argentina v Australia TRC Round 4 Sunday 8 September 5am (AEST)

I understand a lot (maybe most) aren’t going to see it this way but I thought there were a decent number of positives to take from the game. The difference between minutes 10 - 30 and the rest are stark but shows what the team could be capable of.

Argentina v Australia TRC Round 4 Sunday 8 September 5am (AEST)

Largely agree. The knee jerk reaction is to say dump a lot of them. But there actually has to be someone behind them to bring in (who wants to be picked) and, sadly, that may not be the case. Will be interesting how the next lot of selections go.

Argentina v Australia TRC Round 4 Sunday 8 September 5am (AEST)

Sadly I wonder if conditioning was again the biggest issue and passive tackles. The first 30 minutes were very open and free flowing. A lot of rugby was played but some of our players looked gassed. Argentina was able to keep the pace up and we weren’t. Our pack was both physical and mobile...

It was terrible. The Argies completely swamped us. Well played them but it was like our guys were completely gassed and just couldn’t keep up.

Argentina v Australia TRC Round 4 Sunday 8 September 5am (AEST)

It was reported Kerevi himself said he was not in shape for test rugby. Maybe he just didn’t want to play - who knows. You clearly love to play the antagonist and the Wallabies are easy prey. Far enough - that’s part and parcel of a public forum. But it’s been made very clear that Kerevi...
