    Queensland Reds 2025

https://reds.rugby/news/liam-wright-extends-at-queensland-reds-with-new-contract-2024916 Looks like no top-up involved with the re-signing (those are usually joint announcements)

Australia v NZ. Bledisloe Cup Series 2024. Sep 21, Sep 28

I agree, but he's adding more than any alternative. He's the backup starting 9. We've probably already discussed it too much

Australia v NZ. Bledisloe Cup Series 2024. Sep 21, Sep 28

Because Schmidt is planning for 2025, not 2027

It's Gordon, starting then McDermott finishing then daylight isn't it? And if Gordon is out, then it's White, with McDermott finishing. McDermott probably hasn't got the criticism he deserves for his test performances this year. Been consistently error filled and inaccurate (unfortunately)

    Refereeing decisions

Very interesting, especially as the first dot point contradicts Section 6.9 of the laws. Also please excuse the random head

    Refereeing decisions

I actually have the guidance on it, so I know the answer, but one line of thinking is this rewards players who are offside. Related question, is a quick throw-in a restart? It's not considered a set-piece by the law definitions

    Super Rugby Pacific 2025

With world rugby nations championship in July and those SA v NZ tours, I just can't see NZ ever agreeing to play Super Rugby beyond last week of June. So it's just a matter of how early you want the season to start after that. Mid-Feb start and 3 weeks of finals gives you approx 17 weeks. Add in some...

    Refereeing decisions

Interesting discussion elsewhere on the internet on this one. Ball kicked out by blue. Can blue players still in front of the kicker advance once the ball is out to tackle a red player who receives a quick throw in.

    Lions Tour 2025

The big problem we have is the Japanese club won't release him to the Australian S&C coaches. We can only call him into the squad for 3 weeks in July and November, and then TRC If he won't get himself fit, it's very hard for our coaches to do it

    Queensland Reds 2025

What's he doing if he doesn't get one? Presumably that's the offer. Nothing has changed in the last 10 weeks?

    Wallabies 2024

TT played more than twenty 70+min games in 2020 and 2021, including at least two 90minute extra time games, include the SRAu final. But that was when he was 25 It does sound like this "flogging" is what the Rebels and Wallabby S&C guys are blaming for the last few years of his career. I do...

    Queensland Reds 2025

Did we ever hear what Liam Wright's decision on his contract was, or is he still deciding? He may not be left with much of a choice Top 14 started last week, URC starts next week. Japan isn't until December, but I imagine their rosters and OS players would be pretty much decided by now.

Melbourne Rebels Players - where are they going?

Strange year for Pone, goes from a World Cup to being unwanted by any Aus Super Rugby team?

Sounds like we won't be seeing much of Lynagh for a while either

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

Just to give a bit of context - Nine reported this to June 2024 The Olympics does sound like it was a bit of a game-changer, with 50% increase in Stan Sports subscribers, but I don't think we have ever seen how many Stan Sports subscribers there are

Australia v NZ. Bledisloe Cup Series 2024. Sep 21, Sep 28

My red hot take is a large part of the defensive issues on the weekend is because the Wobs missed Wright's leadership and organisation at the back. He one of the few big personalities on the field at the momwnt It's unseen on TV, but very evident at the ground and on the spider cam footage...

    Queensland Reds 2025

Sounds like it was probably feedback from Schmidt that helped JOC (James O'Connor) make a decision, not Kiss
  18. Strewthcobber

    Queensland Reds 2025

Yeah - he's currently listed as a category B player, so the team have some restrictions on playing him, or others, but he's about to become Japan qualified, so his value over there is going to increase if anything

Should Aus/NZ Test Sides Pick Overseas Players?

Please, that's Reece "Last 10 to beat the All Blacks" Hodge. That's quite a depressing but accurate joke

Should Aus/NZ Test Sides Pick Overseas Players?

It's all massively cherry picked though, and usually based on outliers like England's Marcus Smith. Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu has only started 12 games at pro level before test debut as an example. Mack Hansen was playing more games in Australia than he does in Ireland etc etc
