    Queensland Reds 2024

Haha not the point I'm trying to make. The phrasing of that post by the Reds just struck me upon second reading as quite deliberate. I'm excited.
  2. Sword of Justice

    Queensland Reds 2024

Seriously though the inference is that we would want to be not only present for this momentous news but also seated so that we do not faint. Better not disappoint.
  3. Sword of Justice

    Queensland Reds 2024

Methinks he doth protest too much
  4. Sword of Justice

    Queensland Reds 2024

A second one right on top of Wally could be good
  5. Sword of Justice

    Queensland Reds 2024

Trying to think what this is and I’ve got the following in descending order of likelihood (blind and absurd optimism): - Quade back - Ballymore development completion of the larger stand - Genia back - World Cup major matches at Suncorp such as both semis or something - Slipper back after an...

    Australian Rugby / RA

I think perhaps rather than starting again the recommendations seem to be that RA should just start. Things like an integrated model, systemic and standardised metrics, leadership model, transparency in selections, training principles, cultural inclusiveness, high performance development - this...

    Queensland Reds 2024

I think his special skills are just too irresistible for coaches because he’s clearly a freak athlete. I myself would have him last out of that group PhilClinton.

    2024 Six Nations

Crowley certainly didn’t come off looking great in the Netflix series. He’s an emotions based coach. Hard to know if he’s a wizard at keeping Italy in these contests or if he’s holding back a talented pool of players.

    2024 Six Nations

The highlight I saw had a commentator complaining about a water runner having some shenanigans. Ultimately I think it was a fairly straightforward kick and the tee was probably the bigger issue. Bring back sand and bucket.

Super Rugby Round One: Reds vs Waratahs. Suncorp Feb 24

I almost didn’t recognise him at the ground. Looks a lot more tight 5 than flanker now. * in terms of body shape - which I think is a good thing given his motor.

Super Rugby Round One: Reds vs Waratahs. Suncorp Feb 24

Returning from the game on the bus thoughts: - thought Wilson was very threatening and seemed to hit hard in defence and change it up in attack. - Tate started very poor but as often is the case he really managed the game very well as it went on. - Petaia is a physical freak and hurts tacklers...

Having no NRC is better how?

Surely that is why it must work. RA can take a net profit accounting approach to every decision they make and see the viewership and relevance continue to dwindle as a result. We need this investment to create a professional base which is sustainable.

    Aussie Player Exodus

    He’s missing out.

    Wallabies 2024

    Evidence please.

    Wallabies 2024

I can’t imagine Suncorp would have turned down Wales (or NZ, but they will not get many Bled’s when competing against the two bigger markets for one test a year). I was at the last match Wales played there and it was a fantastic atmosphere. The subsidies/rebates/whatever from government would...

    Wallabies 2024

Could be worse, I guess. Not sure if the Georgian backpackers prefer Bondi or Manly.
  17. Sword of Justice

    Wallabies 2024

There’s been a discussion on this concept over in the cricket thread recently. Obviously RA has done the sums that have lead them to make the decisions they have in scheduling. I’d be extremely interested to know how they factor engaging their base into those sums. In the same fashion, I would...

    Aussie Player Exodus

It’ll be satisfying when the league media has to start claiming manu is also shit and it’s actually the unheard of squaddie that’s worth twice as much as both of them.

The one and only Wallaby Coach thread

Given what he did with Ireland with the other two that we are also getting it is hard not to get my hopes up. Did not think that was possible.
  20. Sword of Justice

The one and only Wallaby Coach thread

I always interpreted it as being wily, adaptable, and generally trying to find any way to score, which is where the running comes into it I suppose. I can’t cope when we just chuck the ball around a bit and lose only to have the coach say that we have to keep playing that way.
