If the breakdown was ref'd properly, especially in the first half the opportunites for the Reds would have been greater to attack with faster ball from the breakdowns. It would make not one ounce of difference to the Tahs who have no backline attack to speak of apart from Beale grubber or chip kicks.

I'm watching. He tackles and he hits it up the guts. He also gets shitty haircuts and yaps like a jack Russell all the time. Frankly, however, the problem is more at ten and 13 as Grey was fine in a similar role.

Epic battle, Tahs turned up ready, but fans would be disappointed they couldn't turn 20+ minutes on Qlds 5m line into more than 3 points. Full credit to their front row though, we were taking a caning without Slipper. Kepu has really stood up this year and FatCat seems to be getting back to his best.

Anyone else reckon Hanson will be the starting hooker for the mighty REDS by the end of the season?

Bollocks. The Reds had plenty of good ball in the first half, the Tahs (mostly, except Cross' egregious miss on Cooper) defended very well, got the Reds to commit more players to the breakdown by counter-rucking well at times and pressuring them.

Tight close game. Great defence by the Reds. It was simply opportunism by Phil Waugh with all those scrums, hoping for a repeat of the Chiefs game where a Reds player would be binned, and a penalty try as well. Cooper's kicks were terrible, I mean 4 going out on the full is terrible. Genia was good, as was his kicking accurate every time. But the Reds forward pack are where the credit is deserved, having to put up with 15 men, plus the terrible kicking of Quade Cooper certainly deserves credit.

I thought benefit of the doubt should have been given to Tom Carter on that try ( I mean not to award the try, but to at least allow the Tahs a 5 metre scrum). I understand the complaints about that.

As for Fainga'a and Hanson, Fainga'a is a safer bet for me. For now.

Happy to concede it wasn't malicious and yeah, of course it happens all the time, just kinda shit to see... Especially with such a crucial player for the RWC. Mitchell was on absolute full flight when Higgers turned back in and made contact.

The reason the tahs lost was not because of reds defense, poor refereeing, lack of backline, or anything other than the fact we COULD KEEP THE FUCKING BALL IN HAND AND HOLD IT!!! So many first phase kicks, so many too deep box kicks, and towards the end, with less than 5 left and down by 1 we were kicking for territory! It beggars belief that a team who worked themselves into the game by choking their opposition out would willingly gift the ball back to them. Who's coaching these muppets?

If the front row for the Wallabies is to be selected on set piece ability S. Finger will not get anywhere near the Hooker jersey. It was remarkable the difference Hanson made to their scrum when he came on even considering Ulugia replaced TPN one or two scrums later.

There is something clearlt wrong with TPN, he makes it to the set pieces and does a few big tackles but his usual dynaism around the field is missing and he spends eavery break of play on his knees. Better hope Moore is fully fit come RWC or the Wallaby scrum will again be anihilated especially if Alexander is THP.
