QLD GPS Rugby 2019

Romano - Year 11
Hough - Year 10
Gordon - Year 11
Howarth - Year 11
Annan - Year 10

These boys will be the spine for bbc next year if the side is going to be a real contender next season!

Having a reliable THP is the cornerstone for any contending team - so expect Henry Petit to be a very important part of next year’s team ( THP through R2 to R5 this year )

Carl Hansen ( 1 / 3 ) was injured most of this year and will be back and be a factor as he was in the twin bash brothers approach on last year’s 16A’s with Andrew Romano

Big Ted ( Lock ) will be a factor from this year’s 16A’s and Lock , Hugo Perceval, who started R1 and R2 will also be back .

Look out for Peron Faimolo in the midfield from this year’s 16A’s

Congratulations to TSS. Well done.

I am curious and also lazy.

Can anyone tabulate the points/tries for each team (or give me a good link that I don't have to pay for)?

We might have a record for points scored in a season by a few teams at this stage.

Think Darvo aka The King said during the match that TSS needed to put on mid 50’s in the last two games to break the points record , somewhere around 54 points.

One box ticked today for that stat , certainly can see them doing it again against IGS . The TSS set piece is top shelf , well done .

How close are BBC to the record with an extra game to play?
Assuming Rugby Xplorer is correct...

BBC have scored 237 points in 6 games , meaning 39.5 points per game .

TSS have scored 358 points in 7 games , that’s a bit over 51 points a game.

Quite a season from them .

TSS have been unbelievable this year and the numbers show it.

I would assume they will put at least 30 points on the board in the last game against IGS and finish with close to 400 points for 2019.

2019 Comparison

TSS: 52 Tries Scored. 12 Tries Conceded. 7 Penalty Kicks and 44 Conversions (85% success rate)
NC: 41 Tries Scored. 17 Tries Conceded. 2 Penalty Kicks and 26 Conversions (63% success rate)
BBC: 37 Tries Scored. 10 Tries Conceded. 2 Penalty Kicks and 23 Conversions (62% success rate)

Many thanks for that tries conceded very low for those teams as well.

Claridge kicked pretty well for BBC yesterday, probably would have got them home against TSS but we go on to think of another missed opportunity. I dare say the school will recruit a kicking coach now, albeit it 2 years too late.

BGS has to be the worst place in GPS rugby to watch a rugby game, not to mention they ran out of food at the start of the 2nd XV game, I walked past 5 Maserati's, surely one of them could have gone up to brumbies for some bread rolls? apart from the players and the Nudgee borders, there were about 80 people there to watch the first XV, there rugby program is in all sorts, don't think a team got with in 50 of Nudgee, unless they were playing a lower team.

Under 14 comp is going to be a close end on top
Churchie- 4 win, 1 draw, 0 loss
Ippy- 5 win, 1 loss
Nudgee- 4 win, 1 loss
BBC- 3 win, 1 draw, 1 loss
will be interesting to see with Nudgee vs Churchie to possibly be grand final as last game of season to basically decide premiers.

IGS all the way.

More impressive for TSS was that they had only 8 tries scored against them in the first 6 rounds. They conceded four to GT on Saturday.

Agree-you are so far away from ground=zero atmosphere

From my imperfect memory, 2 years ago when BBC received a penalty at the end of the game against Nudgee on Ross. It was a sitter. I remember the fly half waiting for instructions from the side line, and he kicked into touch instead of taking the kick. I couldn’t believe our luck at the time! They would have won. Correct me anyone if my recollection is wrong here.
I can’t understand how two years later, the coaches still haven’t worked out how important place kicking is.
I feel very sorry for all the BBC team, students and their supporters for losing this game yesterday, but I think they could still beat my old school next week on Ross and possibly TSS drop a game if they don’t perform v Terrace or Ippy. They will not win however without a place kicker. That’s a given.

You are correct-I was there. BBC scored 3 tries to 1.It was actually 2 penalties they knocked back

Almost everyone tipped the round this week with only a few going for BSHS over ACGS or a draw

I have put all 75 tippers results up. Very impressed with the big numbers involved. A few of us will need to get some upsets up to knock over All Over It in the comp in the last two rounds.
