Why?The ARU should reject any offer not accepted before the end of the year
Because the ARU don't like getting F'd in the A, the same as the rest of us.
Has Pocock signed up yet? We should probably reject his contract if he doesn't sign up by 31 Dec too then.
The reds IMO would of won super rugby for a second year straight if QC (Quade Cooper) had not got that 1 game suspension.
Shirley you can't be serious.Am I the only one wondering who Will Cooper is?
As you were.
Mate, many sympathise with him, many want to see him stay in rugby, me included. But he is an adult, and he has some say and input into how this all plays out. The ARU have not been wonderful, but he is not the innocent victim in all this. He, and some of his team of advisers, don't make it easy to feel the love.So the participants of the forum are safe to sit behind keyboards and share thoughts about Deans, Phipps, Wobs, Tah's QC (Quade Cooper) etc, and he shares his thoughts openly, thoughts in comparitive angles that quite a few people agree with and he is harpooooooned.
I agree the method and his wording / explanation could have been more appropriately structured but gee he is still young.
He has rare talents that I hope are not lost.
I saw Link on a documentary last year and he discussed how he changed his approach to get the most out of QC (Quade Cooper) - that year the Red won the tittle.
I hope he plays.
I don't want him gone. But I don't feel he needs to be fawned over to make him stay. He is not so good, nor indispensable that he needs to be accommodated for every whim. He needs more head down, bum up, so to speak.Im of the opinion that Quade is currently the highest profile rugby union player in Australia..
Apart from players like Sailor and Tuqiri who were signed with an existing profile, i dont think there has been a Wallaby in recent history who has commanded headlines or garners as much media interest as Quade does.
He may be a villain/brat/wanka in some peoples eyes, but i don't necessarily think villains in our sport are a bad thing..
It builds interest in matches, it attracts headlines and increases the profile of the game.
I think it would be a dam shame to lose Quade, i understand why people want him gone and respect their opinions on the subject, but i hope he stays as his marketing value far exceeds any $400k salary he has been offered.
Fair enough, good points.I know it has been said before, but I would like to put out the proposition one more time. Consider this:-
Link is coach of the Wobs.
Link ( ok it doesn't have to be Link) brings out the best in Cooper, KC, etc.
Link ( or anybody that can see the ability of players and works with that ) develops a game plan (shock horror) that involves the best attributes of his players.
Link ( or anyone who can work with the players and the management structure ) brings some coherence to the entire team and the hierachy.
Link (or anyone that can stop playing politics and put the game as we play it as the central focus ) brings the emphasis back to attacking rugby.
Link (or any decent coach) who will once again give us hope.
Quade will not play again under RD, and I get that, from both sides.
I want an enviroment where or good players are rewarded for being good players, in the position they play, with the way they play, with a game plan that suits our style of of play, and is devoid of petty politics.
It's called man management.
Give me someone who can achieve that. Please.
