What's people's opinion on Horwill's captaincy?
He seemed not have a good line of communication with Joubert and didn't really articulate his concerns about repeated Kiwi infringements very well. I'd have though this an area he'd have improved by now.
I'm not saying he should be demoted, but I'm wondering whether he's the best option long term. Thoughts?
While you're at it - have a look at about 59 mins.
We go into touch in a clust****.
the line of touch is outside the 22.
AB's take a "quick" throw - back to Cruden who - I reckon - kicks it straight into touch.
since the line of touch is outside the 22 I dont think it matters that the throw may have taken place from behind the 22.
right or wrong?
And the Wallaby Captain and VC were not paying attention or had just given up to not point it out.YES! I was sure i didnt imagine it! They threw the ball in from outside the 22 and kicked it out on the full. should have been brought back for a Wobbly lineout no? It seems the ABs really are above the law
Great player, ordinary captain ATM IMO.Not great, but I can't think of an alternative out of the current squad. Maybe when Pocock is back (please hurry) we can burden him with the job.
Point..Great player,ordinary captain ATM IMO.
remember Scotland?
I don't see how a new captain is going to improve our reaction to turnovers or improve our breakdown accuracy or get us over the gain line any easier.
Please let me now, I look forward to being enlightened
Really, we have 3-4 auto-picks, in my opinion.
Genia - not really a great captain, needs to focus on his game as much as possible.
Moore - can't say I've seen his captaincy material.
AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) - ditto for Moore
Horwill - 'nuff said.
Mowen might be the best captain in the squad, but he needs to establish himself as an incumbent, which he has not done yet.
I would like to see Alan Jones brought in as a Coaching Director Roll. Jones coached the Australian team for 4 years with 86 victories from 102 matches including 23 victories in 30 Tests.[15] When he took the team on it included Mark Ella, and it soon recruited Peter FitzSimons and James Black, both Manly players, and Nick Farr-Jones. Also in 1984, Australia's national team, the Wallabies, won the Grand Slam victories over England, Ireland, Wales and Scotland, and a Barbarians side made up of the best players of those countries and France.
In 1985, Jones was awarded Coach of the Year from the Confederation of Australian Sport.[7]
The 1986 Bledisloe Cup victory against New Zealand in New Zealand was the first time that had been achieved in 39 years. He has Proven himself as someone the ARU should have.
Crock of shit.Struggle to see how the ARU are at fault for not selling out the ground.
Fact is all of the once-a-year fans who normally come to the Bledisloe already spent their cash on the Lions (and watched us get flogged, ruining whatever chance we had of getting them back again).
68,000 was not bad in the end. You'd hope for more, but I can understand why the number was what it was.
.
Crock of shit.
50% of the BIL crowd were pommie tourists.
Subtract corporates and members, how many once a year supporters does that leave?
Hey fp - did you see how Mowen struggled with that channel 1 ball that let A B Smith steal it from behind Genia.
Ahhhh the old days!
