makes the Tahs choice to go with Cross rather than Spanner a rather astute decision.

Yeah as was mentioned at the time he was not only older but also more injury prone. A pity for the Force and good bloke Spanner.

Gene... that's almost a worse name for a rugby player than Kieran.

What about "Quade"? I bet he was the class punching bag at primary school.

10. Ripia

12. Fairbanks
13. Inman
14. Cummins
15. Shepherd

Force were also chasing Hurricanes winger David Smith, i imagine he would be a certain starter, also Richard Graham has come out and said he was thinking about playing JOC (James O'Connor) on the wing in 2011...

fatprops's looks good to me. Anything to keep Fairbanks out of the starting lineup.

Just saw this in the twittersphere from @QantasWallabies

New Western Force coach Richard Graham says he's leaning towards playing young Wallaby James O'Connor on the wing ... http://bit.ly/cXSdKn
Nooooooooooooooooooooooo

To be fair I saw the interview that they are referring to on youtube and it seems like he was avoiding the question a bit, he also said that they would play him where it suits them best.

I don't think Graham wanted to say that Deans was stupid for playing JOC (James O'Connor) on the wing but and he won't actually play him there.

Here is the link, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=78PZQ7CCYmY

Thanks dob, but I don't think we need your 'reason' and 'logic' to get in the way of a good Graham-bashing. :)

I reckon fp's backs are on the money there. I really want to see Inman have a barnstorming S15 and really keep developing too.

Richard Graham definetly wants to play JOC (James O'Connor) on the wing and I think everyone on the forum should sign a petition to remove Graham as coach because he hasn't stated that JOC (James O'Connor) will be the starting 12 come Super 15 time :D

TOCC, I'd prefer he was on the wing than dropped as you seem to have done!!!!!!

ah quite right, i was still half asleep ;)...

no i would have had JOC (James O'Connor) on the wing in replacement for Cummins...

Although my preference would be to have him at 12, however Graham is indicating otherwise

9. Stannard
10. Ripia
11. Smith
12. Fairbanks
13. Inman
14. JOC (James O'Connor)
15. Shepheard

Its going to be a good backline. I'm probably a little bit off what the coaches will go with, seeing as Cummins should probably fit into the first XV somewhere. Who knows what they can come up with with this set of guys!

I like JOC (James O'Connor) on the wing. When the Force hit the opposition 40m he will probably start drifting into the inside backs to get his hands on the ball and Fairbanks will drift out into his spot. He did it last season drifting in from 15, and it worked pretty well setting up a couple of tries. He can be even more Lethal on the wing and probably set up some sort of 2 pronged attack with Ripia.

Last season when he was named at 15 he was playing 10 in attack and 15 in defence. This was because sam harris was at 10 and he cant pass very well.

If you consider JOC (James O'Connor) on the wing for the force in my opinion that is really stupid and a waste. He was their best and most creative back last year he should be the starting 12 and backup ten if Willie ripia gets injured.

He should play 15 I think. Allows him to stay in the outside backs which will benefit us come WC time but also allows him to take on a greater role.

He will eventually become out equivalent of CJ.

I don't think JOC (James O'Connor) playing at wing or fullback is what he enjoys or what the team needs.

His most comfortable position over the past few years has been 12, thats even where he played in his opening season not at fullback or wing.

He is also most effective here because he can distribute kick and break the line from this position.

I think he will eventually become the force's equivalent of Tim Horan, play 12 most of the time and fill in at 10 when required

Given the way JOC (James O'Connor) plays, all it means is the number on his back. He will pop up all over the field regardless.

I would rather see him at 12 for the Force, as he does some real damage in attack from that position. However, if Deans is planning on playing him on the wing for the Wallabies for the foreseeable future, I would rather Graham did likewise.

So the word is that Nick Stiles will be the new forwards coach at the Force.

He's been in Japan for the last few years.

I have no further comment.
