The only city that I could imagine with 2 Super Rugby teams in Straya ATM is Brisbane. Reds has the larger crowd ATM and they don't have 10 NRL clubs fighting for sponsors, vierwers and supporters like in NSW.

Despite that, it would be a BIG risk cause even Reds have to fight for survive, it's not an easy pathway for Super Rugby sides in OZ.

I'm not talked about Super Rugby though. I'm talking about the NRC. Which is about development and opportunity.

Great atmosphere at Leichardt!
Indeed,

The only problem at Leichhardt has is that as soon as you get a crowd of over 10k, the food/beer facilities will be a problem. They need to set up stands at either end to cater to everyone. Bit annoying to have to go to the sidebar from where I was sitting (At the other side of the main stand).

I know where are a long way away from 10k :)

I remember going to that Wallabies trial game, and they would only take cash at the bar (Madness)

First rule of Leichhardt (and pretty well every other ground), go to pub first, eat, fill up with booze as desired - ignore facilities at ground. They have always been shit and the idea of waiting 3 minutes during the game is too long

As good as Gamble's been (and he has been good) Hooper is the difference between those close losses to the likes of the Reds and the Brumbies and wins. I also think that, had either he or Gordon been on the field, we wouldn't have dropped our game in the latter stages of last weekend. These Tahs are going so much better this year, just need that addition of a bit of genuine class and experience.

3,000 years ago the Tahs had Hahn as a sponsor, they set up plastic bottled beer kiosks all around the ground, 1 minute beer
They should try and get a beer sponsor, that can set up those kiosk/tents all over the place. I would have dropped a few more $$$ on booze if it was a better experience.

Missed the opportunity here, I love the ground and the "romantic" side of the team playing on a ground like that, geez the sun is out and everyone is loving it BUT build some partnerships with some breweries, local restaurants, etc...

Set up all around the ground.

The half time entertainment was good though

I assume they have some sort of offical beer sponsor already, but it's definitely worth exploring their options in that space. A few years back the Reds had Newstead brewing as the official 'craft beer' sponsor. After a year or two it pushed XXXX/Lion to come in over the top paying more for an exclusive beer sponsorship. As rugby fans the Newstead guys were sad to lose the sponsorship but pretty happy to see rugby getting paid and forcing the big boys to fork out more money to support their team.

The first two games at Leichhardt have actually been excellent in terms of the bar queues (at least at the bar below the grandstand I've gone to).

Short queues and full strength drinks with a decent selection.

I can certainly attest to large crowds at Tigers games where it becomes pointless to try and get a drink because the queues are dire.

You will get BR on here spewing chips on saying hooper would make a difference. Gamble though still deserves high praise as been MoM a couple of times now. Probably the current form 7 who has been playing behind Mcreight.

Gordon out 2-4 weeks confirmed:

After undergoing scans, the club confirmed their captain will likely miss 2-4 weeks as he begins rehabilitation.

“He’ll be two-to-four (weeks) unfortunately. He’ll be in rehab and that’s probably the best (timeframe) depending on how he reacts to treatment in the next couple of days,” assistant coach Chris Whittaker confirmed.

I think Jamie I will be happy when we get to that being a problem ie greater then 10k at a tahs game / leichardt oval. That is one problem I can’t wait to actually occur!

Bit harsh on BR, .. not much praise to say that Gambles the form 7 but actually not as his behind McReight lol.. I think Gambles has been the best Oz 7 bar none this season.

I was tempted to say that about gamble but know mcreight being playing well. As for harsh on BR I don’t think so as I like the fact BR gives his views and may challenge status quo views as at least makes you stop and think. Might not agree with all of BRs views but equally sure we all have different views on things. Overall I think BR brings good insights on the game.
