It's what I like as a goal, but I just don't think there's enough talent for Melbourne and potentially Perth and even Canberra to fill their two sides. If it's fully pro then they could bring players in from around the country, but there isn't enough money for that.

At this point running it as Super AU (without wallabies players) + the Drua looks achievable - it offers improved development outcomes, could see pro squad sizes increase within reason and at least offers some amount of "tribalism" or whatever it is people feel they didn't get out of the NRC. It's not ideal but right now we just need to get something off the ground.

There's no way Melbourne, Perth or Canberra can run two squads. What's achievable is as you mention the 5 Aus Super Rugby teams plus the Drua. An easier way of filling it out would be to give both the Sydney and Brisbane clubs the opportunity to enter a rep squad of non-contracted players.

I still think a NRC based around two sides being provided by each Super Rugby side is the most logical approach

Direct pathways, larger fringe squads, assistant coaches get to coach - they could even both play double headers each week when they aren't playing eachother

i favour this approach as leverages existing teams / brands and causes less upheaval / additional costs. Plus I think it would help strengthen quality of nrc teams to maybe more match quality of npc and thereby aid player development.

At the end we managed to get another 8 on top of that including a Canadian bloke. Doing my bit for NSW rugby. And yes healthily crowd today. Those games against the kiwis will be packed.
Yes I couldn't help make a joke form your wording but its very encouraging to see such a good crowd today, and they are putting on some quality rugby at times which is a great thing. #reset/rebuild

7,400 according SMH. It could be worse or better, it depends of what u was waiting. It's a better crowd than any game in Parramatta but could be more crowded. I mean, Lilyfield is just 15/20 km away of rugby strongholds

Given crowds were around 3 to 4K last year, 7400 is much improved. Benefit of playing at smaller ground like leichardt vs say scg is gives better atmosphere. If tahs continue to be successful crowds will grow. Sunday was also predicted for showers so would have still kept some fans away.

Be interesting to see as for many scg would be easier to get to..so in theory should have more…not sure though personally whether scg a fans favourite to watch rugby at
A cricket stadium is not good for rectangular sports like rugby. Luckily this will be solved next season with the new stadium, so the team has to continue improving to bring supporters back

The only city that I could imagine with 2 Super Rugby teams in Straya ATM is Brisbane. Reds has the larger crowd ATM and they don't have 10 NRL clubs fighting for sponsors, vierwers and supporters like in NSW.

Despite that, it would be a BIG risk cause even Reds have to fight for survive, it's not an easy pathway for Super Rugby sides in OZ.
