I like Harris being retained as No 8. He reminds me of a Ben Mowen type player and Ben Mowen became better in time. In-Fact, Mowen played his best rugby at the Brumbies after the Waratahs discarded him for the returning Elsom. A big mistake as Mowen went on to play and captain the Wallabies.

I think this is a bit of revisionism.

Mowen signed with the Brumbies before the Waratahs signed Elsom.

Ultimately I think it came down to the Waratahs preferring Dennis at 6 and Palu at 8 versus 8 being Mowen's preferred position.

Let's not forget that two years after Mowen left, the Tahs finally won a Super Rugby title so it's hard to argue that the way they put their squad together at that time wasn't good.

Does anyone know at Leichhardt if the Tahs bench is going to be on the south or north side of the player entrance?

Great to see Faalelei Sione back in a Super Rugby squad. Where's he been since finishing with the Brumbies some years ago. I had thought that he and Tyrell Lomax would make a strong front row for the Brumbies around the time Sio, Ala'alatoa and Slipper wanted to call it a day.

Hope he plays well and forces some consideration for the matchday 23.

Good to see the Waratahs have a major sponsor for the start of the season.

Its tough, you don't want to undersell the front of your jersey & up and running the tahs have the biggest upside they move the needle more than anyone else but at the same time struggling & not getting he numbers through the gates. Hopefully it will start to turn around & someone will see the value in it.

Your only worth what someone will pay you
