How do you overlook so many quality props. THP's mentioned above and LHP's like Sio, Allalatoa brothers?

I think the problem comes back to not having a starting opportunity for a long time with Robinson and Kepu having those positions locked down. All the most talented options ended up going elsewhere for opportunity.

We've not hit a low point with Kepu leaving and Robinson past his best.

I think the situation will improve next year with some of the young options becoming good options.

Tom Robertson already looks like a capable player.

Three things, I think

1/ Having a starting set of FatCat, TPN & Kepu for many years meant most of the above props had better opportunities elsewhere for decent starting game time - an absolutely valid reason to go elsewhere

2/ Being caught with tall workrate props when the rules changed and shorter, stronger, squatter "real" props became what was needed

2/ Quite shit prop succession planning by Cheika, this can't be all put down to Gibson and Ta'avao (who I think was bought as a short term "fix")

I don't really think Keps and Fat Cat being at the helm for so long was really the problem.

Ryan, Tilse have been the second string props for some time now. They have been seen superior to the guys mentioned above.

Sio was apart of the Waratah academy not wanted then headed to the Brumbies academy. Weeks was overlooked at the Waratahs left for the Reds academy and has been a solid option since.

Mike Allalatoa has been in the academy for a while now and never really got recognition so headed to NZ. Talakai was picked out of club rugby for the Reds after being in the Waratah set up for a long while and Brumbies took a punt on Allan Allalatoa as a 19year old and his development has been great both potential Wallaby bolters.

I definitely think they missed out on some of these guys like Ala'alatoa and Talakai (Mike Ala'alatoa should have featured on the bench a bunch of times last season and maybe he would have stayed) but I really disagree that we missed out on the likes of Scott Sio because of our bench options.

The best players we missed out on went elsewhere where a starting spot was up for grabs, not because they were going to get more opportunity to sit on the bench.

When Weeks went to the Reds, the Waratahs had four Wallaby props on their books (Robinson, Kepu, Dunning and Baxter).

Which has me questioining how they've come to the determijation that either Ryan or Tilse were better. Neither offer anything in the scrum and are arguable more useless around tbe park. Ryan has major issues at the scrum and has had them for a while. Yet hasn't appeared to address it. I know some will suggest it's on the coaching staff but as a player he'd have to be acutely aware that something isn't working.

Tilse while being a great 'team man' offers even less.

The Tahs would have been better served to give M.Allalatoa a run last year and this season. A lot more upside to him. Honestly I came into this season hoping to see the Tahs to make the finals but not expecting it. I saw this season as an opportunity to blood new talent like Horwitz, Hollowat, Kelaway, Dempsey etc. Allalatoa would have been a strong addition.

Am I the only one to think that Tom Robertson is actually Benn Robinson and Matt Dunning's love child??

I don't give a shit if he's the spawn of Satan as long as he can lock down a scrum.

Ta'avao starting again this week, and our two lightest locks as well. Hmmm.

I'm filthy we missed out on Sio and the Ala'alatoa boys, I'm not sure if Sio or Ala'alatoa signed and started straight I think they road the pine for a season or 2.

Tah's have let a couple of Uni Boys in Tilse and Ryan ride the pine for far to long, I think Tilse should have been freed 2-3 years ago, may have been perfect timing for either Sio or Ala'alatoa/s.

People thought Greg Petersen still a young lock spent to long (& he was injured, all bar one season) - serious - have a go at Tilse.

Note this is directed at Tah's recruitment not the players.

Fitzy, what's happened? Are you unwell? Is hmmm the Fitzy response to such madness? Wish I could be at the Clock to hear your unexpurgated opinion of this.

The fuck else is there to say? Something is very, VERY wrong with the scrum and we're not going to fix it by fucking around.

This is the current England polo shirt:

And this should be the Waratahs polo shirt:

But for the brand the Pommies are more important than the Tahs supporters

I just jumped on the the Tahs merchandise site,to determine which side of the polo debate I was on.
They actually have some good gear on it!
But Waratahs socks @ $25 pair, who the fuck would shell out for those?
Who actually wears footy socks for anything but playing footy, these days?

A few of he Tahs forwards look past it too me. Dave Dennis has been a great servant to the Tahs however does not seem to be up to it now. Cliffy is OK as bench player but cant go on forever. Mummy is 32 - still puts in however must also be approaching the end.A few gaps to fill ASAP.

Might raise some eye brows but after a sting in he Nth - Pyle & Petersen, I'd also suggest bringing Porecki back from the Nth as well TPN couldn't have long left.
