Jono Lance is a very good signing.

He is a 10 or a 12, and a damn good one. Not a 15.

He is a very rugged defender, and has a strong kicking and passing game. Has dominated at premier level for the best team in the comp since he was about 18 or 19.

Ever had a beer at the Thirsty Crow? To quote John Elliott, "it's like an angel crying on my tongue". Couldn't be fresher, brewed some 10m away from where it's drunk.

Ever had a pie from Uranquinty? Paris pies? Ppphhh! You can't enjoy a beer and a pie on the banks of the Murrumbidgee in Paris. Nor can you watch the mighty Waggatahs go around, or swallow a decent locally-produced Shiraz. French wine? Gimme a break.

Ever snuck upstairs in Romano's and had a cheeky root in an unlocked room?

Apparently I saw him play against Leinster a couple times, didn't make much of an impression on my memory although that could be do with the alcohol consumption on the day! Doesn't seem to be much information about him online or much on youtube that I can find. He only has 13 caps for his country in 10 years, stats like that don't really scream high quality! Not sure we should be wasting an overseas signing on someone who is essentially a journeyman who plays in the same position as our captain.

Especially if he is the wrong side of 30..........

2 announcements from the tahs today: firstly confirming the signings of Jono Lance and Tala Grey; second to announce HSBC will no longer be main sponsor next year.

Tala Grey is a good signing. Hopefully he didn't cost a huge amount of coin though as I'd be disappointed to lose some of our players that are currently in the squad and playing well.

I hope they find a decent sponsor for next year!

IMO this is the wrong time for HSBC leaving the Tahs. They have stuck with them through some seriously tough years. Just as the Tahs appear to be turning the corner they step aside. The next sponsor will be stepping in at very good time.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say the next sponsor will be a finance company.

At least they're putting themselves in a better position to find a new sponsor with their 2013 results improving and in particular the style of play getting a lot better.

If HSBC's sponsorship agreement had finished last year it would have been a disaster.

I like Grey, I think he's come back at the right time, his time in the French comp would have helped his physicality. He's mobile and will fit into Cheika's plans perfectly. Good signing.

So after supporting the tahs through years of shit, HSBC finally get out just as they start to play some good rugby. Bit like QR and the Reds a few years ago.

Anyone else think that for the benefit of the wallabies Folau should start playing on the wing? Move Crawford to 15, it means he's in a better spot for his kicking.

tahs should be playing people where it suits them, not the wallabies>
thats why barnes is starting from the bench, while in qld cooper defends from fullback
one thing that ive liked about cheika is that every decision seems to be in the best interest of the team> if people like crawford are playing well they hold their spot>
