What about on the opposition throw, when they have the advantage of timing and placement?

Is anybody seriously suggesting that height is not a useful asset when defending against the throw?

I suppose it is important in hybrid rugby, where you're not allowed to lift.

To be critical, Lopeti has cement hands anyway. Possibly too slow to play no. 8 at the top level, and too short and lumbering at lock.

But that's not necessarily a barrier to being selected if he can smash people.

Obviously it depends on body shape, but someone like Arnold would have an absolutely ridiculous wingspan. The 15cm between Lopeti and Arnold could easily become 20cm+ all else being even.

Anyway, there's some quality here. Simmons and Douglas will last to next World Cup at least. Add on Arnold, Carter, Jones, Skelton and Whatsisname from the Force and the need to play Timani at lock is virtually nonexistent barring an injury crises.

Simmons, Douglas, Mumm, Skelton, Coleman, Arnold and Carter is not a bad crop at all if we can hang onto them all for 4 years. If I was Jones and Timani I would probably be looking for opportunities to play 6 or 8 but how likely is that at the Rebels really?. Hopefully one or more of the lower tier Super Rugby locks in Neville, Jeffries etc. can kick in and push to make it to higher honours.
