We just need to pull it back tight and bash them for ten .. then spread it again.. they cant get close through the pack ..

The commentators keep relating the game back to known American sports such as NFL and basketball, and I understand why. but it's painful to listen to.

Shocking kick from Petrie, I think it actually went backwards.

Beale ends up with the ball but his chopped hard low again.

Then Giteau.

Fantastic tackling from the USA.

Wallabies kick out on the full, woeful kick. Missed who it was.

This game isn't bad, it looked like the Wallabies would walk over them early but the USA defence has turned up to play.

This game will open up in the last 20 as the USA tire from all their extra work, but gees Bailey has done a great job on their defence.

Wallabies look very flat, waiting for that taper into the WC.

Big maul now from the Eagles, but TPN gets through and ties up the ball. If they had some better drilling that would've been a bit more dangerous.

Not going the Wallabies' way now.

Another good scrum, slight Phipps fumble but Phipps goes to Gits on the wing who grubbers forward and regains, clever move. He's tackled, ball goes to Speight who drops it. Half over.

Poor half from the Wallabies, great from the Eagles.

14 - 10 at half time.

Didn't look flat in the first twenty.

I reckon USA have played outstandingly for the next 20mins.

Really big defence and what a try!

I for one bemoan the lack of a specialist catching coach. You might argue that the passing coach has this covered, BUT WE DON'T HAVE A PASSING COACH EITHER! The running off at half-time coach will have to cover both of their specialisms. What a schemozzle.

Not to mention they have to cover the "waving hands in the air while whinging to the ref" role (halfback specialty).

McMahon the best so far. Slipper, Palu, Phipps, Foley not far behind.

TPN = trying hard but sometimes too hard.
Speight, Tomane = awful.
Simmons, Douglas = lazy.

Our structure is just stupid. I'm all for keeping some powder dry, with the understanding that we don't want to give away all our shit for RWC, but we need some direct runners in close.

Aussies scored 2 early tries.

They then switched off, and stopped doing the hard stuff, USA has taken full advantage of that fact.

Foley needs to control the game better. USA rush defence is good, so grubber or chip the ball in behind.

Or play for territory, you've got a good handful of lineout operators, use em.

Fancy Football is all well and good, but when not everybody's pulling their weight (Beale, Simmons, Douglas, Tomane and Foley standing out so far in this regard) you need to change tack, give a spray, or pull 'em.
