I'm not really sure what form Godwin has shown. He has joined the squad as one of the only options that are healthy and has had really limited time with the squad.

His biggest attribute is his left foot kicking but I don't think he is a good kicker overall.

In two matches for NSW Country he's been one of the least impressive backline players.

It is almost as if Cheika's thinking is "we are not playing the all blacks this week so we will be better" eg DHP defending on the wing will not be an issue because SA will not exploit it like the All Blacks would.

We will probably get a couple of wins against SA and Arg and paper over the cracks only to get belted by the blacks again.

Agree with others time to take risks and build for the world cup.

And of the 35 comments on the front page I see 1 that is dead against Mumm.

Shame I had to read in the team announcement that it would cause outrage in QLD.

I agree on this, typical propaganda of something that isn't even real.

Not many are fazed by the Fardy dropping (and I'm a brumbies fan), I'm just shocked at Foley remaining at 12 and DHP on the wing.

It's more of a last man standing scenario

It's a bloody long time away!

For instance if we go back to 2012, 13 players made their Wallaby debuts that year and only 4 of them went to the RWC in 2015. Most of the other debutants from that year were nowhere near selection in 2015.

The trouble with trying to plan too far ahead is it's pretty difficult to predict how players will develop and/or who else comes onto the scene in the interim.

We've got a whole lot of players unavailable right now particularly in a couple of positions and it greatly exposes how shallow our depth is.

He's had a couple of sessions with the squad this week since joining it.

Naming him to start at 12 in his test debut after so little time in the squad would be a far crazier selection decision than anything Cheika is being accused of from this team.

Hopefully he gets his opportunity in the Rugby Championship but giving him some more opportunity to be part of the squad and train with the team.

I'm pretty sure that the team that is trotting out on Saturday isn't what Cheika had pencilled in at the start of the season. The use of the subs will give us some clues as to what he is thinking, particularly in the back line.

There were a few obvious weak links in the Bledisloe games but the over riding issue was the poor execution as a team. So in some ways I am glad to see a barely changed lineup so that we can objectively measure the level of improvement and see if things are heading in the right direction.

A lot of test matches between now and then (40 or 50)

The way we are going we will, once again, find ourselves in a Pool of Death and may not be so lucky to get much further.

It will be interesting to see how Moore performs this week

As a player, I think he is well over his best but Chek has held onto him. As a Captain it will be interesting to see if the justified criticisms of Refs ignoring Moore now take on a different slant.

I think they will, well initially anyway. Owens may become frustrated later in the game

Does that mean Moore will let the Ref do his job without the whinge and so not cop any criticism for his captaincy. I think so.

However, if he is quiet (and doesn't meaningfully engage with Owen on a professional basis) he is not doing his job as captain.

Tough game for Stephen methinks.

I actually thought Moore was fine with the ref's last match, but it was the ref's form that was poor.

Unfortunately I think it indicates too little too late, ref's clearly have a pre-determined agenda on Moore now, so even if he does the right thing it still won't be good enough. Not sure he can do anything to resolve that - maybe it will diminish in time - but time isn't on Moore's side.
