.. Pocock would have to be the best man for the job short term especially considering Owens is in charge.
Why is that?
Nigel Owens rates emotional David Pocock moment after World Cup final whistle as the greatest of his refereeing career
Great article. We need more interviews with refs. Seems they are human and very big fans of the game. Who would of thought?
Straying off-topic a little but, Strauss having announced his Test retirement at year's end, who's the next Bokke skipper? I'd say Whitely except he's not exactly a dead-set starter if/ when Vermuelen is fit so does that mean it's Vermuelen? Or someone else? Not sure who "someone else" would be, tho...
I hope your right. Would love to see Ready in the squad sooner rather then later.
Heman-shamedcheated like a bastard and got away with it thanks to Owens in the Springboks try zone. It has been a quiet last few tests for the guy on the "big hits" front.
Godwin and Morohan?
I know it's because of injuries, but are they really the next best players in their respective positions..
Agree re Morahan but let's not nit pick, it's a squad inclusion. As for Godwin, yeah it's because of injuries and it's been discussed at length on this forum. Personally I'm excited to see what he can offer, if it's not him who is your choice to fill the hole? And don't say kerevi or hodge, they are already in the squad.Godwin and Morohan?

Kinda, agree with most of that but Godwin is more than emergency cover....he's the only genuine 12 in the squadIt's a move to get them running in the systems. Morahan is the only one likely to get near a match day XXIII at this stage the only "Winger" we've got is a busted old bloke with a smattering of French.
Sefa isn't even eligible until after Perth, and Godwin is there for squad experience with an eye on November. Emergency injury cover a pinch
