Yes.Has Dempsey been picked on the bench to take the spot light off Hanigan at 6?

Dempsey hasn't played NRC this year.
But perhaps Timani played himself out of the squad with his NRC form?
That's probably true but Pocock is not a true 8's arsehole. Shithouse runner, shithouse in the lineout and shithouse at cover defending (excellent in front line defence)
Without too much thought I would think Higgers would be a better 6 than Hanigan (by far) as well as a better overall 8 than McMahon (although he went pretty well in Bled 2 - and was shit in Bled 1) or Timani.
Pocock is a great 7 but a poor 8.
Hooper is an OK 7 (would be a poor 8) who probably should be playing 12.
shithouse at cover defending? see this ultimate cover defence! (haha bit old now)

People keep saying this but we haven't had a number 8 who has consistently strung good test matches together for a very long time.
Find me that player and I will say that we should select them every time.
Until we find that player I am open to playing a 7 out of position because they are a substantially better rugby player than the traditional 8 we have available to us.
If we were rating the number 8 performances this year, McMahon's game last week was better than any of the three tests started by a traditional 8 in June.

Mate - no question great tackle from Poey and looks fantastic on a highlight reel, even at the olden day "flicks"
We really need Holloway to step up in the NRC and have an opportunity with the Wallabies when he is fit, not just returning from long term injury. He did look very good last weekend.
I agree. He was very good for the Rams. Hopefully he can have a good Super Rugby year next year and remain injury free.
He combines the size, running ability, ball playing skill and lineout work that we need from a number 8. He probably needs to get a bit better in the tight stuff.
I think him and Naisarani are the two best shots at breaking through as a good test number 8 option.
He's substantially better at most of those things than any other 8 we've played in recent years since Palu in his prime and the short but outstanding period by Samo at the end of his career.
You are holding Pocock to standards at number 8 that none of our other options meet hence why those selection decisions have been made.
I think Naisarani may end up being the guy with the well rounded number 8 skillset that changes it, but no one else has managed it.
If he hangs around. He's not Australian and hes not eligible yet and he's signed for a team that doesn't exist anymore. Might lose him.
du Preez is Yster.
I make fun of Isi choosing Australia over Fiji a few times in a few rugby forums on facebook he is on, he usually likes my comments lol. i can honestly say he is committed to be a wallaby, only 2 other fijians have played for Australia in the forwards that i know of, one was nicknamed the Skewer and the other is a Legend (Samo), i'm sure he wants to follow their path.
Fili Finau?
I just had to login to comment on this one because I work with Fili
Also, on what planet is Hanigan 110kg? Kuridrani is listed as 192cm and 102kg, Arnold at 208cm and 120kg and Simmons at 200cm and 115kg.
