Can I just say, John Smit's throws were appaling, his work rate and his attitude towards the ref was nothing short of appalling. His time's up as skipper, PDV needs to win the rest of his games to ensure he keeps his job. Smit's is definitely gone

dont think quades tackle was bad enough to get cited. How good was O'Connors dump on matfield, the lil guy was tackling props head on! i was impressed. Maybe its time to move him up into 12. Fainga also impressed, he'll be putting pressure on Moore now but i think Moore fully fit will prob be number 1 choice untill TPN returns. There were so many good hits that game horne, ma'afu, fainga, browns try saving hit. Was beautiful to watch!

Interesting to see how we go against the ABs. Quade didnt have to do much defending so it will be interesting to see how he goes against the ABs who im sure will be more successful at targeting him.

Not a bad performance by the wallabies. Defence was pretty solid.
I still have a concern with the breakdown though, while we won most of our own ball we struggled to control the speed of clearance. Unlike the All Blacks we continue to win the ball back by bridging over and protecting the ball carrier. The All Blacks showed us the way you have to create and control speed at the breakdown by clearing out and going forward.
Still as a eternal optimist that was a big step forward. Bring on Melbourne.

Handling errors were bad as well - especially from the backline. The All Blacks are going to counter attack (and ultimately score trys from) all of those turn overs.

If Quade does not get cited, but Furry does, there will be a thermonuclear detonation in the Republic. I expect a week.

Bring out the armbands?

Hopefully there is no additional suspension - sin bin was punishment enough - as there was no injuries resulting in it and certainly no malice in the tackles.

Injury or not is irrelevant. Who can determine malice? The key is whether the judicial process is consistent - and that has been a bit of a lottery. Oh, and past record will come into it.

Can anyone believe Fox sent Cannon to the presser for the Saffer team?? I would hope they are not just trying to provoke PdV. That would be childish. But just a little funny.

There can only be a citing if the citing commissioner believes the officials were wrong, and it was a red card offence.

Really? So JdV was deemed deserving of a red card for his tackle last week? Or did he not get a yellow - can't remember. But is that really how it works? I defer to others' better knowledge here.

Very fishy indeed. Stupid stuff on behalf of fox sports. If they tried to bait him they failed for sure.

Think the ref missed that one altogether.

At the press conference Cannon asked de Villiers if he thought that he was the right man to lead the Springboks into the RWC.... de Villiers replied along the lines 'you will have to ask my boss'
