Ireland got lucky. Against a team who had 13 players at one point on the field and they held them out.

The games cooked though and I don't know the answer. How do the Wallabies get a yellow for a soft neck roll yet Ireland go flying off feet into a breakdown shouldering Hooper in the head and the tmo doesnt even check it. I'm.notvdaying the Wallabies shouldn't have been carded but the TMO gets involved for technical penaltiea where no one is hurt but not for serious stuff. Hooper should have stayed down or sold it like furlong sold that seatbelt tackle. The TMO seemed to get involved way to much and unfortunetly it was mainly for things against Australia.

Ireland pass the ball into a Wallabies palyer at the ruck on purpose and win a penalty. White does it and okeef says no you did it on purpose? Inconsistent. I guess, next year, hopfully the Wallabies get some luck and those important moments go their way.

Bundis try. He got the ball down on his 4th attempt. Ball was held up and bundi kept placing the ball back and forwards to get it down. If the tmo had a look at it, it would have been overturned.

Australia playing a scrum half on the wing. Missing at least half the team through injury but their defence was great tonight. As good as Ireland's.
Pretty happy for Australia in this game. With so many players injured and out plus many injuries during the game they hung in ther and pushed Ireland to the end.
Couldn't agree more, you mad sandgroping bastard.

The Wallabies have marked their cards with the officials. The players aren't shown respect because referees perceive the team doesn't offer it back. Many referees (O'Keefe, Williams, Raynal come to mind) begin the game with a hostile approach/demeanour towards Australia. It's on the team leaders to consider why and how to fix this

Part of the issue is the captain, since Moore, all of them have an issue with their communication with the referee. Quite often the relationship/dialogue is going south early into the match. It doesn’t help when our captains are regularly penalised too. Pocock was far too passive too and didn’t push back enough.

What do our captaincy options look like post RWC? Holloway? McReight? Bell?

Completely agree but the last 3 games have been much much better. Against France hardly any aus players talked to the ref.

Great to see Foley step up in defence when we were down to 13, didnt set the world on fire at any other time unsuprisingly

Marky Mark (Nawaqanitawase) certainly staking a claim to his spot!

Have been a big Porecki fan, but he really does struggle to be dominant in any contact, hence having to go fo the neck roll to move players in the ruck. Lots of work to do after the tour if he wants to stay in the squad.

Super disappointed to see Tuopu go down after winning a scrum penalty, was looking promising.

Was interesting to hear BOK wasnt keen on penalising Bobby V for his "head contact" or kiss, but was talked into it by TMO.

Wales will be looking to get a strong Win after going down to Georgia!

Jaco warned white.

He even explained, clearly, what each person's role in that night's proceedings should and should not be.

I dunno if you've got trouble hearing or not, but in case you do I'll just let you know that all through these matches there is constant (and I mean, it is CONSTANT) chat at the referee by the Australians. It's not just the captain, it's all the Australians.

I say Shiggins does a week long camp with the Wallabies and follows it up with a two week camp ( they need the extra week) with all IRB Referees.

Oh shit.

Just watched the highlights.
Geez rugbys got some work to do.
Ireland win with a toss of a coin scrum penalty - what a shit way to determine the outcome of a close fought game
Bunch of neck rolling penalties that were initially over the shoulder and then immediately released when they realised it was going wrong - with no danger of injury whatsoever.
Its created a complex construct that just shoots itself in the nuts time after time.

I'm largely sticking positive on a number of players after that one, but I didn't think Gordon deserved to be in the squad based on recent indiscretions and poor form, and last night he gives away the two key penalties that lost them the match...

Anyways...

Kellaway is such a smart defender - that period where we were down a man or two and he just slid along making all the right decisions.

I feel like Holloway is really developing nicely.

Frost, Hooper, Valetini and Skelton all great in the forwards.

I was gutted to see Tupou go down, because despite being pretty hard on him this year it looked like he started to turn it around.

There's such a gulf between White and our other halfbacks...

Marky Mark (Nawaqanitawase) is going to be a star.

Anyways..

If Rennie rolls out a decent side against Italy, and we wind up with two really close losses against the top two teams in the world and this tour wouldn't look so bad... alas...

Have to say while watching game, I was impressed how Wallabies handled being down to 14 then 13 players, and at same time laughing at Irish and seemingly lack of nous when Sexton not there. Why when you got a 5m scrum, the opposition down to 13, and 8 of those in scrum, would you choose to go down blind side right where all Wallaby players are? Surely going wide where there would of been 5 on 3 was the option?
Just dumb rugby to me.

Agree with this.
Let's have a look at the positives. Most here, inc me, thought we would get touched up against the French and it was close ditto against Ireland. Stupid against Italy and managed to beat Scotland by a piece of luck. The numbers look bad but considering what we were looking at I for one ain't too upset about it. Could easily have been 0-4 or 4-0 or anything in between IF we knew how to close out matches.
Wales is going to be a huge effort if we are to beat them with Aus A, they will be very wound up after that loss.
