I'm not trying to spin it, I'm speaking my mind, I chose not to buy a ticket for the very reasons I listed in the post previously. France aren't a premium team for Australian fans.. That coupled with the Wallabies form over the past 5 years means there are some vary wary fans and the consequence is a poor attendance.

Didn't the Wallabies beat France in Paris 59-16 whilst Deans was coach? I know it's a popular thing to bag Deans, but sometimes it's a bit silly... as though the team didn't underperform under every other coach before him after MacQueen..

Look guys, the tickets were too expensive. Fact.
I walked up to the game at 6pm after having a beer at Caxton st, saw that the cheapest ticket was $55 dollars and left.
The average Joe such as myself (hilarious as my first name is just that) would probably want to consume 4 beers during a game of football (TBH I don't know how much the average Joe drinks as I normally have twice that amount). Suncorp charges $8.50 for a watered down XXXX gold.
By the time I would have left the stadium I would have been $90 dollars down without even thinking about purchasing some delicious deep fried chippies.
As a student, I can't afford that. So you know what I did?
I went 1/2'sies in a carton with my brother and got shitfaced yelling at the TV from the comfort of my lounge room.
Cost: $17.50
If there was a ticket for 30 dollars, I would have bought it. But $55... for an event that is 20 thousand short of selling out?

Test tickets are a premium product and $55 is a pretty reasonable price. Of course that is always going to be too much for some, and going '1/2sies' in a case and watching it at home is always going to be the cheaper option.

Yeah fuck me. There's 2 test matches in Brisbane this year. $55 is pretty fucking reasonable for an event of that nature.
A decent night out on the sauce will cost $200-$300. Plenty of the people that said it was too expensive would likely spend that.

It amuses me that for this test where the Wallabies did everything that was asked of them, so many posters lament that France didn't offer sufficient opposition. Most years the Wallabies have had a lot of trouble in their first test of the season, just as the ABs had yesterday as well. But the excuse there is that they were rusty. I think the Wallabies deserve a lot of credit for the way they played and hope they can keep it up for the remainder of the series. I think they will because imo French rugby is not very strong, and maybe that's because there are too many foreigners (mostly SH ex-stars) dominating their teams.
For the second test, Jones to come in for Carter. It must have been a close thing deciding between the two of them for the first test. Jones has been much more consistent than Will Skelton or Horwill all year and has earned a chance. I'd really like to see Skelton on the bench to come on for the last 20 minutes or so.
I didn't think Pek Cowan added much in the time he was on, and like it or not the scrum did go to pieces when both he and Ryan came on. Think Benn Robinson might be a better option on the bench, while a new bench THP is a must.
Will Genia should replace Phipps on the bench for Test 2.

Well judging from the 20,000 EMPTY seats the tickets were too expensive.
But please, instead of burying your head in the sand with one hand up your ass perhaps you could contribute to the argument instead of labelling anyone who wants to save $100 as "broke-ass".

I love how people are calling for Cowan to be replace by Sio because he "isn't a test standard prop" explain to me how you have come to this conclusion? He was on the field for 15mins packed about 5 scrums with 3 resulting is penalty to the French all because of Paddy Ryan who we all know isn't a test standard prop. Give the guy a chance Sio will get his chanc but Cowan has been in great form.
Not only did he have Ryan he also has TPN who had just played a full 80 not sure he has done that all year aswell as a lock who we now know was on 1 leg.
What we should be looking to do is move Slipper to THP or pray that Alexander is back soon (did I just say that).

The trend seems to me that the more experienced takes the five jersey. Don't know why but I remember Sharpie took the 5 jersey from Horwill when they played.
Would love to know the reason behind it today.
