Heard the Oz team on the radio - or rather, they just mentioned Gits at 12 and A.Finger, Higginbotham and McCalman on the bench.

My computer is problematic at the minute. Can somebody please google and post the team?

Thanks.

It's already in there Lee - on the previous page. I'll put it on this one if you like?

Only change to run-on side is Cooper.

Reserves include Higginbotham, McCalman & A Fainga'a. Simmons dropped.

Wallabies: Kurtley Beale; James O'Connor, Adam Ashley-Cooper, Matt Giteau, Drew Mitchell; Quade Cooper, Will Genia; Richard Brown, David Pocock, Rocky Elsom (c), Nathan Sharpe, Dean Mumm, Salesi Ma'afu, Saia Fainga'a, Benn Robinson.

Reserves: Stephen Moore, James Slipper, Ben McCalman, Scott Higginbotham, Luke Burgess, Berrick Barnes, Anthony Fainga'a

We have problems if a lock don't perform or goes down injured. 5:2 split would of been better with Simmons retained. Like the two big loosies on the bench though.

Go Wallabies.

So - Cooper replaces A.Finger in the starting team and Gits goes to 12.

A.Finger replaces Shepherd on the bench.
Higginbotham replaces Hodgson on the bench.
McCalman replaces Simmons on the bench.

I thought that Turner would get Shepherd's bench spot as Barnes already shadows Giteau at 12 and Beale can play there. Turner will chase kicks to the cows come home and make an average kick look good.

McCalman has a big engine and should get on before Higginbotham IMO because I don't know how much rugby Higginbotham has played.

PS what is Higgers nickname? I'm sick of typing out his name.

Lance this underlined names in the team, are they the important ones?

I don't understand .................. no Simmons?

We don't need Fainga'a and Barnes on the bench

Gnostic, take a bow, your knowledge of your hero coach's plans is near-perfect.

They're the players who have a page in our wiki so far, if you hold your mouse over an underlined word you'll see a picture of the player, if you click their name you'll go to their info page.

Turner?
Turner?

Ironically, I play my grand final match at TG Milner field this weekend.

Odd bench or not, it makes little difference as they will mostly ride pine all night. Theoretically I would have thought Turner on the bench would be more useful than Fainga'a; Simmons even more use. Oh well.

very strange bench indeed, i suppose Deans is banking on McCalman or Elsom to play lock if one of the starting locks goes down,

The back line is what gets me, you have Barnes and Fainga'a on the bench covering 5/8, centre presumably, but already in the backline we have Beale, JOC (James O'Connor), Giteau and Cooper who can all play either or both of those positions...

I don't quite understand this 22. Why wouldn't you have Slipper and Moore in the starting front row? McAlman must be covering lock and flanker, which is also a bit odd. Barnes and Ant covering the same position too.

I don't get it either. If one of the back 3 are having a bad night or get injured I see AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) being reshuffled but then who goes to 13 or if AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) himself gets hurt? Who else is there in the touring party who can play 13?

Glad I'm not the only one who's completely baffled by this bench, not to mention the starting lineup. Two 12's but no lock on the pine, JOC (James O'Connor) on the wing, Ma'afu and Brown still in the pack...there is so much wrong with this team. I'm predicting a thrashing...Boks by 20.

Dwyer's prediction may come in handy....
